I do this for every kind of beverage, have a favorite exclusive of each of these:
- beer glass
- water bottle
- coffee mug
- whiskey glass
- wine glass
It's nice just using and cleaning one for each of these instead of having glasses clutter the sink from every time I get thirsty and need a drink.

I fell down the stairs 6+ months ago and banged up my toe pretty bad. It bent all wrong and was sprained for a while. Now when I pop it it pops twice, and there's a decent amount of pain.

It's very fucked up story. But whenever a similar topic comes up someone has to say "I bet he had broken arms" or something like that.
Similar one is "shoes came off so he's definitely dead" whenever some fall or other force throws someone to the ground.
It was funny at one point... Maybe like 6 years ago. But like jfc there's no original thought, just echo chamber zingers.

A lot more comments like reddit that are the quick (very tired) zingers. I was happy to get away from that but I'm sort of thinking of putting lemmy down if it gets worse.

It's beyond tired. But it gets up voted and can dominate the comments section. I appreciate threads like this one that promote actual discussion.
Civilization 6, Helldivers 2, fallout 4, and elden ring are all in the several hundreds of hours for me. I've got some decent time into cyberpunk 2077, valehim, no mans sky, and the wither 3 wild hunt too.

how do you make friends if large gatherings arent your thing?
I do like large gatherings, but I don't really do well meeting people and making friends in them. I find it too chaotic and difficult to "be myself" with so many people. I also feel there tends to be more shallow conversation in these settings making it great for banter and social energy but less great for connecting and getting to know new folks.
I am looking to meet new people to be friends, as in capital F friend, not just a random person I know. Someone who wants to hit me up and go do something fun, check in on me and see how I'm doing, etc.
How do you go about meeting people and finding social settings that foster deeper connections?
