Yeah still super buggy for sure. When you swap users, you have to force close the app and reopen for it to actually swap properly.
The entire UI got a refresh. There's an actual search button now too.
Worth noting that the Jerboa app pushed a major update today and it's massively improved. Definitely suggest giving it another try after today, it feels like an entirely new app.
I believe Matrix has the same encryption as Signal. Though there are some things that leak metadata, like reactions for some reason. Would like an investigation into it as well, as I pretty frequently use it. Obviously this is assuming it's an encrypted chat. Though would also like to see the comparison of an invite only encrypted room, vs a public joinable encrypted room.
Damn that sounds so time consuming. In most of the US where I'm from, water is treated really well and can just be drank straight from tap safely. I put my water in a brita to filter it so it's a bit more pure, and it also tastes better. Some nicer fridges with have a water filter in the front door, so you just press your glass against it and it fills it with perfect water. Also they usually have a button to dispense ice cubes. I never realized how nice I have it compared to the rest of the world lol.

Lemmy not updating properly?
All my content on the front page is 3 to 4 days old, and I've tried swapping between Active and Hot, both have the same result. I've also tried swapping from Local to All, didn't fix either. I know plenty of my communities I subscribe to have newer posts, yet my feed hasn't been updated in days. Is this a server issue? Have tried the website, and two different Lemmy apps and it all persists so it seems to be server-side.
When you get bored lol
rip bozo
If you think an ad-pocalypse is bad, then why would they jump to a platform with no ads at all? They'd likely be paying to be on that platform. Also the fact streaming video from a self hosting platform is much more demanding then text fedi instances like Lemmy or Mastodon. Also no way the fedi could keep up with even a fraction of YouTube's creator tools, or their audience which is their bottom line.
YouTube will probably never be replaced. We can at least go for private front ends like Invidious.
Spez didn't care, it was just a small negotiation so he doesn't come across as "fuck disabled people". It didn't work though, he has been a PR disaster.
