  • If there was more structured organizing, the state would have to be receptive. When the economy fully stops, they listen. A one off Saturday protest like No Kings doesn't work because its irregular and not a financial protest. Tell your friends to stop using their credit cards, full stop. I appreciate your protest and am not saying you aren't doing enough. But Americans as a whole can be doing a whole lot more, it's embarrassing how many just whine about the democrats. Organize the left, the revolution is sanctions on all US companies

  • I really like this idea, but its difficult. when I used to attend uni it was more feasible but in 2025 all of my courses require online submissions, discussion, and materials. I can rent a laptop from the library, but only for 4 hours at a time. Of course there are desktops, but realistically if you want work from home you need a computer/tablet. That said I still just borrow my partners and haven't bothered to buy one.

  • Yeah, I do understand where you're coming from. Science is only now reconciling with the fact that white man knew very little about land and interconnectedness. The stories citing environmental events do have some sort of spiritual advice but not to the effect of Christianity and the like. if you don't want to listen or prescribe a personal connection to indigenous stories they aren't going to tell you you're a horrible person or crucify non believers. There is a difference there, correct.

  • traditional ecological knowledge has been orally peer reviewed for thousands of years, and it is becoming more integrated into the scientific method. there is a lot of spirituality and moral teachings in the oral history. That doesn't make it less of a scientific approach. source: spending time in indigenous governed communities alongside government scientists
