  • In Star Trek, their run-of-the-mill, rarely discussed deflector is doing way more work than anything in the Star Wars universe. The one exception is the world-ender planet lasers which have been a big plot point in too many films and STILL have no plausible means to exist IN THEIR OwN UNIVERSE!

  • Well, I know GOT S08 was dogshit. Is ST S05 the same? I haven't made time for it.

  • I listened to the 1st 30 seconds over my phone speaker and didn't clock that it was AI. Yikes.

  • Anybody who likes this should check out Temple of Angels.

  • I hope they licensed this footage appropriately and paid the voice actors scale, but I'd bet good money they didn't.

  • Then I think you should enjoy the chips from la cocina de Josephina without regret.

  • Calidad is excellent and pretty available in the Southeast. We have local producers Ole and La Chiquita that I can find in a few stores and farmers markets. Depending on where you are, someone has got to be supplying the Mexican restaurants.

  • Sorry. I'm a fellow corn chip enthusiast and just wanted you to have all the facts.

  • I definitely felt the trauma of that time coming back and felt like crying at the end just due to the release of it all.

  • Tri Repetae.

  • I finally watched Contagion after hearing about it since Covid. It's eerie how many things they got right about a global pandemic: the blogger with his BS treatment, vilifying the head of the CDC... The list goes on.

I also watched the Deathstalker remake. It was okay, but that was to be expected.

  • Look on the back of the bag at who makes them.

  • Good. It's terrible that this is a reality, but what is happening here is the decriminalization of being homeless and a student. Sure, you have to have a car, which isn't great, but for those in this situation that need this service, I imagine it to be a comfort.

What this also does is make a very public safe space for people in dire conditions to congregate, commiserate, and hopefully organize. Please make a tent city; nothing will help illustrate the problem more. Create a safe place for unhoused people and see just how many show up.

A safe space for anyone to help meet their basic needs should always be a good thing.

  • Rage bait, maybe. But I chuckled, and that is good enough for me.

  • True true

  • Earl Grey Sausage. Hot. 😉

  • To extrapolate on the lesson inherent in the meme, there are wounds you can survive and those you can't. Once you identify the ones you can't survive, you add armor to protect yourself (and others) from future formerly-deadly wounds.

There are so many systemic things we can correct (and we will!), but what, as in the case of this plane, are the personal pieces of armor we can forge? What pieces of armor can we help others forge for themselves?

An obvious one is a support network of friends and hopefully family. I'm a cis dude who was touched by the image and would like to be a better ally.
