Won't anyone think of the children poor Apple, Boeing, Nike, & Starbucks? How will they survive?

Easy fix.

If you can't find it used or local, use eBay!
About half the time I try that, the seller just buys it from walmart/amazon and has it drop shipped to me. So I'm not sure how much good that does.

Thank you! I've been trying to piece together an old house's history. This certificate may or may not have anything to do with it, but it's definitely an interesting piece of data to add.

Any info on this old certificate?

Found this in the attic of a house built a few years before Oklahoma's statehood. Looks old, but also looks like a reproduction of something old. It's at least old enough to be super brittle and has tannin staining on the back where it was mounted to a piece of wood for a LONG time.

I've heard some smart people say her husband might be Don jr's daddy.

I literally watched a guy die on the shroomery's IRC.

And as was the style at the time, we figured he was fucking with us or assed out, and went on with our day.

"Pokable" was my first hope too, but it doesn't look so.

Just trading one scroll wheel for another. "Surely the next channel won't be another crazy preacher." (It was).

That article got pulled quick.

OK

They aren't in the business of selling laptops. Even if you pay for it they are still out time and resources.
Edit: But the post I was replying to was suggesting lieing (by omission) to the library, which is a shitty thing to do.

So buy one from walmart/amazon and return it when your done. Don't potentially fuck over your local library, one of the few remaining bastions of public service, when TSA decides it's suspiciously clean (and/or finds probable traces from the person that had it before you).

Well, my original question stands. Is it really a better business decision to choose not to sell at all vs raising prices.
I run a US business where the cost of materials has always been volatile and the cost of the end product follows that. 40% swings aren't uncommon and just get passed onto the end user; my profit stays relatively the same. So I can't fathom just locking the doors when things get expensive (and people are still willing to pay it).
I could understand it if they were doing it as some form of protest, but then it doesn't make sense to only stop selling the low priced options. That's just hurting the people furthest removed from what you are protesting.

Your public library allows you take their loaner laptops out of the country?

But like that article says, automakers have ~3 months of inventory already in the US. They aren't pausing sales, they are just continuing selling what they have here while betting the tariffs get lowered before they run out.

How is pausing sales in one area, rather than just raising prices accordingly, the better business decision? No one is forcing them to sell at a specific price point.

Admittedly, I feel like this game doesn't satisfy what people are looking for in a milsim. Foxhole is a top down shooter, while most milsims are over the shoulder 3rd person or 1st person with a huge focus on tactics and execution. Foxhole seems to pull out a bit more, still allowing tactics planning and execution, but overal strategy and logistics are also added into the game.
That actually seems like a plus to me, but I'm weird. Thanks for the breakdown.

K. I'll just wait for the 8bitdo clone.

My little greybe.

Lil' Smokies doesn't come out too often. She's usually in her attic lair being antisocial.

Are there any lemmy web-ui clients that allow filtering by keyword yet?
Sorry, I'm sure this has been asked recently but I can't find it while searching.
Are there any web based lemmy clients (like alexandrite) out there that allow post filtering by keyword? I'm not as concerned about filtering comments, but that would be nice as well.
And if it has to be an app, any suggestions for a linux desktop?

Help with KRDC
PC A and B are running Fedora 41, both on the same local network. I used to be able to use KRDC to remote desktop from PC A to B. After letting both PCs update a couple weeks ago, it's no longer working. When I try, I get the username and password prompt. But after entering, I get a "Could not connect to server" error in KRDC. I get the following errors in the terminal:

After seeing articles about this I checked my cat's microchip on www.aaha.org no registration info comes back. Savethislife was a major pet registry in the US.

It's going to be a 3 cat night.

Main heat isn't working until the repair guy hopefully comes tomorrow. Supposed to be in the 20's (F) tonight; hope 3 cats and a (electric) blanket are enough.
Edit: Heat is fixed. I'll miss you cats.

Runner Bun

Looks like he's getting lined up on a bun sized starting gate.
Moving soon, gonna miss you buns. While I'm pretty sure I could catch them all. I don't think moving in then releasing a bunch of wild rabbits into the neighborhood is a good way to say hello.

How to disable scroll wheel in Fedora 39 (Nobara)?
My mouse won't stop constantly scrolling and a replacement is a couple days away. How can I temporarily disable the scroll wheel? All the instructions I can find deal with xorg or xinput which I do not have. I can't find any scroll wheel setting in either settings or piper.
Optionally just being able to disable it in firefox would save my sanity.
Thanks for any help.

Technically a felony.

I tried explaining how serious the ramifications are, but he's got a real problem with authority.
