  • Finished main storyline missions on No Man's Sky. I was heading back from second galaxy to my main base, flew to a space station and while I was doing stuff, a squiddy boy landed, I did a quick search on the rarity and bought it off the pilot. Turns out, it's the most rare regular exotic in game and some people have been playing for thousands of hours and haven't seen one. I clocked 40 hours at the point that I saw it. Lucky as fuck. It's ugly and I probably will only use it to show off on the Anomaly but it's really cool that I snagged one.

  • I'm playing the wrong game.

  • Defederation from feddit.uk - info enclosed and feedback requested

  • Fuck a Nazi TERF instance. And that user in question with the “adult human female” dog whistle bullshit can face the fucking wall.

  • My autistic ass taking notes on how not to sound like AI when I write shit.

  • Honestly I was going off the assumption that China had to recognize the Cuban blockade in order to trade with the US. I'm probably not as informed on that as I could be.

  • The funniest outcome for this would be that China just stops trading with the US altogether and opens up trade with DPRK and Cuba.

  • Now that I think of it, I wonder if the Astro team has AI shit built into their VSCode plugin.

  • I like DeepSeek more but it's responses for AstroJS are actually worse from what I've seen. I am starting to think I single-handedly trained ChatGPT on Astro at this point lol.

  • My favorite thing about ChatGPT is telling it consistently I'm writing stuff in AstroJS and not ReactJS.

So, uh where's this link for a junior position starting out at $145k? Asking for a friend...

  • If the US doesn't fuck up it's own demise and just dies peacefully, I can see that being the case.

But I think China would use their new powers to help lift other countries up instead of continuing to use the global south as a giant slave plantation like the US is doing.

  • idk why I deleted that comment, but also learned that you can undelete lol.

I'm not at all sure about the timeline order so that's pretty cool. For some reason to me FF12 feels more future-y tho. I do recall someone stitched the map for the original Tactics and FF12 and they match up pretty much exactly.

Do you have more info on the "child's dream" take? I'm curious.

  • This is mainly a FF focused comment. I might come back later and ramble about other franchises though.

A lot of JRPG franchises generally only have themes in common. So you can play Final Fantasy 6, 7, 10, 11 or 15 and have a self contained story. I donno if it's been confirmed by Square but I do subscribe to the theory that Final Fantasy Tactics and 12 take place on the same continent, just a few hundred years apart. But even then, both titles are standalone and have nothing in common other than the same Ivalice.

There are a few franchises that have continuity like Breath of Fire(iirc) and XenoSaga.

As for where to start with Final Fantasy, 6 is a really good standout retro one, 7 is always a favorite, and so is 10. I don't think you can go wrong with any of those. If you really like politics in games, 12 has all that and more. It's my favorite of the bunch but that makes me an outlier. I also don't recommend starting with it because it's a huge deviation from the main game mechanics.

Don't mind me, just writing a list of apps that are gonna get firewalled by the US because of national security in about 2 years.

  • I was part of the reddit exodus over the 3rd party app bullshit. I saw a post from one of the bigger servers bitching about how you shouldn't join lemmygrad or Hexbear because they are full of tankies so I made a Lemmygrad account. After Hexbear refederated I added a few of their comms and realized I jive more with their community than with Lemmygrad so I made a HB account and added a bunch of my old Lemmygrad comms to that.

I wish the hobby comms were more active. That's really the only reason I still have my reddit account.

  • I just grabbed the Fowkes version since I never really added the actual book to my collection lol. It's 1152 pages though.
