  • I love syncthing!! I have one VM with only debian an syncthing and that machine is backed-up frequently. All others PC's and vm's syncthing to that one machine.

    All of them sync ~/downloads

All machines I use for coding also sync ~/code

    My desktop machines sync ~/documents.

And so on. Works great (for me)

  • So why ya mad?

You get that when an ally (usa) threatens an other ally (Denmark) to take their territory (Greenland) one way or the other.

You get that when you treat/'attack' Zelensk the way trump and vance did. If you no longer want to help him win the war then stop helping. But don't start spreading lies he started it and he needs to give up his and to the aggressor.

But the actual question here is "Why aren't you ??" Seeing what he (and musk) did to your country so far and try to reform it after Putin's example? A totality regime by him and oligarchs.

  • Yes, that's the view we got : it's about you, and the rest of the planet has to comply. Spoiler alert: won't happen. You'll get the isolation you seem to want and we move on more united than ever before. I think we're both happy with this divorce.

PS: he's not special at all, and Franklin D Roosevelt is the winner here:

1 George Washington: Served two consecutive terms from 1789 to 1797.
\ 2 Thomas Jefferson: Served two consecutive terms from 1801 to 1809.
\ 3 James Madison: Served two consecutive terms from 1809 to 1817.
\ 4 James Monroe: Served two consecutive terms from 1817 to 1825.
\ 5 Andrew Jackson: Served two consecutive terms from 1829 to 1837.
\ 6 Ulysses S. Grant: Served two consecutive terms from 1869 to 1877.
    \ 7 Grover Cleveland: Served two non-consecutive terms from 1885 to 1889 and 1893 to 1897.
\ 8 William McKinley: Served two consecutive terms from 1897 until his assassination in 1901.
\ 9 Theodore Roosevelt: Served nearly two consecutive terms from 1901 to 1909, initially taking office after McKinley's assassination.
\ 10 Woodrow Wilson: Served two consecutive terms from 1913 to 1921.
\ 11 Franklin D. Roosevelt: Served an unprecedented four consecutive terms from 1933 until his death in 1945.
\ 12 Dwight D. Eisenhower: Served two consecutive terms from 1953 to 1961.
\ 13 Ronald Reagan: Served two consecutive terms from 1981 to 1989.
\ 14 Bill Clinton: Served two consecutive terms from 1993 to 2001.
\ 15 George W. Bush: Served two consecutive terms from 2001 to 2009.
\ 16 Barack Obama: Served two consecutive terms from 2009 to 2017.
    \ 17 Donald Trump: Served two non-consecutive terms from 2017 to 2021 and 2024 to ???????

  • Being president made him winner of the elections. Nothing more.

What's awesome about all countries having lost trust and respect for the USA? What's awesome about the many USA boycot initiatives? What's awesome about the dollar starts to loose it's status as reliable currency? What's awesome about veterans that served their country now started to hate it?

  • Long time ago I left Windows and went to linux. Yes, there is a learning curve, but once past that (digital)life became so much faster/better. I even changed my wife's pc to linux. She knows nothing about pc's and only said 'it looks different now" but she has much less issues on linux (elementary OS) then she had with micro$oft.

So, as I read it, you feel like you have some time left to decide. I suggest to take a live-distro, put it on an USB stick and boot from that. Yes, it's sometimes slow/sluggish but it works and you can get an impression of the distro. Take an other one, try that too, and one more and.... Ah well, just play with a couple and see which one you like best.

Once you have chosen (remember, it's not a life-time decision (!), switching distro's is relatively easy) install it by making your PC dual boot. That way you can have windows as a sort of back-up in case you need it.

hint: take a look at https://distrowatch.com/
