  • Metropolis (2001) Original Trailer

I don't think I'll ever forget Kenichi and Tima's plight.

    Edit:
Whoops sorry! I missed the community this post was on; Metropolis is dystopian but it isn't a horror movie

  • oooh now this is a bop!✨

    Thanks for sharing/posting!πŸ€—

  • I'd personally suggest sending an email to one of your profs about noticing potentially malicious network activity that originated from a fellow uni student with your attached proof.

In that same email you could ask them what's the proper procedure for the circumstance you're in.

Create a high quality GIF with Kdenlive, for beginners

    cross-posted from: https://feddit.org/post/11802992

    Introduction

At a high level, the process to make a basic high quality GIF is just:

    1. Import a video into a video editor
    2. Place some text over it
    3. Save it as a video file
    4. Convert it to an animated image file

Simple enough. Most high quality GIFs are just video clips with fancy captions them. But the video editing software that is used to make them can be rather complex to wrap your mind around as a beginner. Editors have a whole lot of options available to you right away, which can be intimidating. Which buttons do you actually need to press? Which buttons are for more complex things that don't really apply to what you want to do? In this tutorial, I will highlight the few tools and buttons in Kdenlive that you would need to actually focus on in o

  • Honestly this is the kind of content that used to make reddit cool

    Great gameplayπŸ‘Œβœ¨

  • Is it a huge faux pas to install all the default packages?

    NopeπŸ‘

Your computer is meant for you. Personally I'd recommend installing just the packages/programs that one needs but if you want to install all of them to save on time then I don't see anything wrong with thatπŸ€—

  • Those are some amazing reccomendations, But i have watched those and probably all other mecha anime besides gundam which im watching now.

    Fair enoughπŸ‘

ah 007 I need to rewatch; thanks for the unintentional reminder!πŸ€—

  • While I haven't seen Thunderbolt just yet, a couple of mecha/Gundam-like anime I can highly recommend is:

    • Eureka Seven
    • Gurren Lagann
    • Code Geass
    • Iron-Blooded Orphans
    • 86 -Eighty Six-
  • How about a raspberry pi?

    Potential Pros:

    • wireless control is possible via wireless mouse + keyboard
      • provides better search experience via a physical keyboard
    • can't be paywalled by console subscription
    • adblock possible
    • an OS like Linux Mint or Ubuntu can easily be installed and used

    Potential Cons:

    • can be expensive depending on cost of pi and peripherials
    • requires approx 1hr min - 3hr max to DIY

  • I had a talk with my brother today and we both agreed that South Korea's looking quite bleak.

    • for context our parents from South Korea gave birth to both of us in Canada.

SK's current and ongoing birthrate crisis is only going to get worse. Pregnancy and proper childcare can only be sustained if the systems are there to make this a reality.

Unless the government steps in, I find it difficult to believe that things will getting better without proper intervention.

  • This is an unfortunate tragedy.

When democracy fails, the area of residence replicates prisoner and guard systems.

Citizens with low status carry the highest risks.
The privileged few carry low or no risks, saddling the burden onto those at the bottom of the pyramid.

  • I actually agree with @Emotional_Series7814@kbin.melroy.org 's approach

I've actually previously asked users to edit their posts in the communities that I mod and it's working pretty well.

To me, asking people to do something first makes more sense as most users are reasonable considerate people.
Plus it just seems like the more polite method of doing things as an admin

  • Our rules still stand that we won't allow transphobia.

Unfortunately, as the ruling on the interpretation of the law has recently changed, we are going to have to figure out how we approach this and that is going to require a consensus amongst the Admins, and an agreement on our wording going forward.

    I don't get it. Why the self-contradiction?
No matter how many times I read this I still don't understand what's happening on your end.

  • The autoscroll you're talking about is indeed one of Okular's features.

I'm using the word autoscroll to describe the irritating bug that I'm encountering with the form fields.

  • Thanks for sharing!πŸ‘Œ

It took me a bit to start but this article was an incredible read and I appreciate the quantity and quality of insight the article provided into the inner workings of the censorship machineπŸ€”πŸ€—

  • This is pretty gorgeous but the fact that a single keycap is $49 (USD?) makes this too crazy of a purchase

    Either way thanks for sharing!

How to disable Autoscroll in Okular?

I'm wondering how I can disable the autoscroll in Okular because whenever I'm type into a form field the autoscroll keeps preventing me from seeing the text that's above the form which makes using Okular quite frustrating.

Besides that using Okular has been perfect✨, decades ahead of Adobe ReaderπŸ€—

  • This was a perfect relaxing chapter for me🌻 after enduring the world's constant news barrage.

The Death of Affordable Computing | Tariffs Impact & Investigation

"Everything is a better option than paying these tariffs. There's no world in which it makes sense for us to pay these tariffs and sell these products in this region (US).

It makes more sense for us to give up on this region and move to another region."

    • Rob Teller, Hyte Product Director.

For context Hyte's margin is 5% before the tariffs. The retailers would benefit from the tariffs situation whereas the manufacturers and OEMs would still be stuck with their previously set margins.

Insecure Code vs. the Entire RGB Industry | WinRing 0 Driver, ft. Wendell of Level1 Techs

"Our recommendation is to do what your antivirus software says especially in regards to this one (WinRing0) because again it's not a false positive; it's a true positive. This is a real potential vulnerability and if Windows quarantines WinRing0 we'd say let it happen.

If anyone tells you to ignore those warnings then treat those people or those groups with extreme skepticism. Again there are real vulnerabilities that have been used which can exploit your machine."
