I wanted to know the same thing so this is what my searching has brought up, specifically for Scots Gaelic as that's what I've been learning.
Speak Gaelic - Gaelic only, government funded, free
IndyLan - for endangered European languages, made by Heriot-Watt University and EU funded, free
Mango Languages - appears to be the closest to a Duolingo replacement. Many languages, subscription.
Glossika - another Duo replacement however that URL doesn't fill me with confidence that they're not going down the same route... Subscription for most languages, endangered ones are free.
Apart from the first Mango lesson for free and a few IndyLan lessons I've not tried any of these so can't speak for their quality but thought a list might still be handy.
Nancy Birtwhistle has some great books that can help a bit with the cost of living. They include recipes for your own cleaning products and toiletries. It's only a few £s here and there but they start to add up into some real savings, plus you get the benefit of knowing exactly what's in your products, peace of mind from potential health effects, as it's all vinegars, citric acids, and alcohols instead of (to the layman) mystery chemicals.
And to save even more money they are available on the high seas, although she's put considerable care and attention into them so I've purchased the real things. But for getting started, they are available is all I'm saying.
Obviously that doesn't help with buying a house or anything as they're crazy prices everywhere but it'll save you on your shopping bills each week at least.
Just grab them as low to the ground as you can and pull them out, taking as much root with it as you can. The plant will focus its nutrients and efforts on the sections not being torn out. Any time you see another escapee, grab it and pull. They will become less frequent as the main body fleshes out and grows.
Nature doesn't like bare empty spaces so consider filling in that large empty barked area with some more crops and raspberry escapees will have some competition and become less likely as well.
But... But... The BBC said the hot weather was a good thing!
What I find interesting is all the blame appears to be getting laid at Toby's feet. They're not tree experts, why are the people that felled it not also under fire?
They of everyone involved should have known best to say "fuck no, I ain't cutting that down". But they were paid to cut down a tree so they took the money and cut down the tree.
That's not to say the carvery shouldn't be under fire, I just think the tree experts should be mostly held accountable rather than a pub manager.

No dig gardening is a method that can help you get rid of your grass without the effort of digging or renting equipment.
They had a choice. They chose money over principles.
Will he ever leave office?
Also, Trump isn't the only reason all of this shit is going down. It's the entire Republican party. It's every ICE agent, it's the Supreme Court deciding a president is above the law, America is rotten to the core.
Richest country on the planet with plenty of land, many climates allowing a diverse range of crops, and various resources like oil and ores. And they've fucked it, just to get their hands on more and more dollars, to what purpose? Greedy fucks.

On the sixth day of Hate Week, after the processions, the speeches, the shouting, the singing, the banners, the posters, the films, the waxworks, the rolling of drums and squealing of trumpets, the tramp of marching feet, the grinding of the caterpillars of tanks, the roar of massed planes, the booming of guns—after six days of this, when the great orgasm was quivering to its climax and the general hatred of Eurasia had boiled up into such delirium that if the crowd could have got their hands on the 2,000 Eurasian war-criminals who were to be publicly hanged on the last day of the proceedings, they would unquestionably have torn them to pieces—at just this moment it had been announced that Oceania was not after all at war with Eurasia. Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Eurasia was an ally.
There was, of course, no admission that any change had taken place. Merely it became known, with extreme suddenness and everywhere at once, that Eastasia and not Eurasia was the enemy.

In my eyes a mandatory read for anybody opposed to authoritarianism.

In an assumption that those reading the comments here are lawn cutting folks, please consider not cutting your lawn at all, or if that's not feasible at least reducing how often or how large an area you do it to. Nature cannot survive the onslaught of every home on the planet having a perfectly neat 10mm tall patch of grass and nothing else. We need diversity.

Fascism begins the moment a ruling class, fearing the people may use their political democracy to gain economic democracy, begins to destroy political democracy in order to retain its power of exploitation and special privilege.

Capitalism most certainly has everything to do with this.
Capitalism robs the workers of most of their value and siphons it up to the owners. We then end up with, those who have far far more than they need, and those with not enough.
The internet allows us to communicate and see these injustices easier than ever before and the Arab Spring brought home to those in power just how powerful the internet can be. It is now aggressively being used against us to promote ultra capitalism and fascism in an attempt to prevent communism/socialism proliferating. And frustratingly, so far, it appears to be working.
I can see the Labour Party coming to power in the next election - maybe, maybe not - who knows? But it doesn't really make a difference who's in power - the State remains the same, the structure is still there, they just tinker with it a little here and there.
And because we have a population that doesn't give a shit about right wing racists, because huge swathes of them are also right wing racists.

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor, yeah
136 upvotes to 6 downvotes for a piece of shit like The Telegraph and a bullshit divisionary piece? I thought Lemmy was better than this
That relies on the loggers fearing a murder charge. In Trump's America, would a logger be charged with murder for "accidentally" killing a tree hugging protestor?
Also that the emergency has been created by him ergo not really an emergency
