  • but isn't that just the most efficient arrangement in a crowded forest where each tree elbows its neighbours out of the way for whatever sunlight they can get?

why waste energy in making branches and leaves low down when they'll forever be in the shade?

  • years ago, i came across the phrase "resting bitch face" online somewhere. i don't know in what context i read it or where, but i do remember being utterly confused by the concept. like, what even is that phrase supposed to mean?!

and that consternation had only deepened and strengthened right up to the recent past when photos of jd vance began to surface. now it's 100% clear what the author of that long-forgotten post must have meant when they typed out those three little words.

  • lichess.org is a fantastic online chess platform for players of all skill levels. it's free and---what's more--it's ad-free (unlike the parasitic organisation that's squatting on the chess.com domain).

it has one-on-one on-demand match-ups, tournaments, puzzles, user-published training courses, multiple chess variants, and so much more.

it's one of only two online resources to which i deem donating regularly worthwhile (the other being wikipedia).

do check it out. chess is one really healthy mental habit to inculcate.

  • perhaps it's the limit imof each data type?!

gemini harvests only your first four cobtacts, your last two locations, and so on.

how does one defeat that? have fewer than four friends and don't go out!

  • because people can't misuse laws for pet euthanasia in order to get an early inheritance, or to get their toe in before a will changes.

in many scenarios, euthanasia does make sense but there is ample opportunity for greedy people to misuse such laws. it would be hazardous to enact such a law unless adequate protection is provided.

  • is this not just affirming the premise of the sixth book? that's the whole reason why Potter found the Prince's spells so fascinating. school subjects are not meant to entertain. they are meant to teach.

also, as book five attests--as well as does the subject of history of magic--some syllabi and some subjects were way more boring than others.

my main gripe would be that nobody taught english or any other form of formal communication at hogwarts. i dunno how they all just didn't end up speaking like Hagrid.

adguard vpn selling user data to third-parties?

my apologies for the long screenshot. i had purchased adguard's vpn service for five years since its primary adguard service is well know in the iapple ecosystem.

on android, though, their app appears to send data to a lot of third-parties. has it always been this compromised? am i a fool to go for their vpn services as well?
