Is CachyOS suitable for a new Linux user?

I am a long term Arch user. I consider to recommend CachyOS to a friend with very limited technical knowledge. I read CachyOS is suitable for Linux beginners. But since it is based on Arch, doesn't that mean manual user intervention is sometimes necessary like it is in Arch? If it is, I don't think it is suitable for a noob user.
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I could not find anything about manual intervention or about checking Arch news before updating in the Cachy wiki or anywhere else.

  • I want this as well, but it will never happen.

  • Win win

  • Usually insurance companies don't pay for vandalism I think.

My incomplete theory about the rooms in the testing floor.

I think Lumons goal is to create a chip, that can be activated every time a person has to do something unpleasant or painful.

With this chip a person that is afraid of flying or the dentist could just activate the chip and can travel easier and have better dental health.

People that hate to do physical exercises can simply let their innie do the work and be fit and healthy without having to work for it.

Woman that are to afraid to give birth can have children without having to suffer through a potentially painful birth. When Lumon has a chip like that, they might be able to convince a lot of people to get chipped. That is something Jame talked to Helena about in season 1 episode 9. "Everybody should have a chip!"

And when everybody has a Lumon chip they might have darker plans to control people with these chips.

So on the testing floor they created a chip that makes Innies willing to take the pain for the Outie. Maybe they are able to copy Gemmas chip after Cold Harbour. An

Ms Cobel looks like the antichrist in the last scene of episode 9 season 2. But she is not!

I thought at first, she standing their in this fire lit room a fire burning behind her, she must be evil. She looks like the devil in this scene. But this is not about Christianity, it is about the Lumon religion! She is the fallen arch angel of Lumon! She is not the antichrist, she is the anti-kier!

Lumon is all about the cold. Cold colours everywhere, the iceberg picture in Milchicks office, the home town of Cobel (home town of Lumon as well?), Cold Harbour, ... But there is Cobel standing in very warm light with a fire cracking behind her. She is no longer a soldier for Lumon. She is the anti-Kier now! She wants to burn this company to the ground now!

  • This puzzles me. Why do these Meta employees care for LGBTQ people? How can anyone work for Meta and have a conscience?

  • At the very least there should be a law, forcing any health insurance to at least cover all costs needed to insure survival and long term health. And what is needed for survival and long term health is defined by the Doctor and not by the insurance company!!! Honestly, no idea why this is not law in any rich country in 2025!

  • CEO got killed but everything still working as intended. For everyone who was worried I can bring relieve, UnitedHealthcare is still working well.

  • That was pretty funny!

  • Why was that so funny? I mean it was very funny but I don't know why ;)

  • Does this A in 18A stand for ångström? Can they even produce anything below 10 nm?

  • My phone came with usb c to a adapter. Yeah, keyboards only need very little power.

  • I was thinking a wired one that you already own?

  • Connect a keyboard to your phone!

  • Yes I think you are right. And I think this is borderline a mental illness if you can't stop lashing out. As I understand it, she somehow thinks by bashing trans women she is doing something good for women. Trans women are somehow taking away her womanhood or something like that. I have read something like this several times from Rowling but I have no clue how trans woman could do that. But Rowling is obsessed with that, for what ever reason.

  • This is mental illness by now! Seriously wtf? Why is this so important for her that she can't stop talking about it? If I had some irrational hate for trans woman, I would not go on about it in public all the time.

Don't we have more important problems then to bash people that are so unhappy with their body that they are willing to take hormones and let people operate on their genitals?

This is such a simple thought, everybody should be able to think it, right? But on the other hand, she is not the only one hating transgender women or men. I mean it is not right to hate people for that. But if I would hate trans people then I would just not invite them for dinner and would stop talking about them all the time.

It must be some form of mental illness I have no other explanation.

  • LLMs are neuronal networks! Yes they are trained with meaningful text to predict the following word, but they are still NN. And after they are trained with with human generated text they can also be further trained with other sources and in another way. Question is how an interaction between LLMs should be valuated. When does and LLM find one or a series of good words? I have not described this and I am also not sure what would be a good way to evaluate that.

Anyway I am sad now. I was looking forward to have some interesting discussions about LLMs. But all I get is down votes and comments like yours that tell me I am an idiot without telling me why.

Maybe I did not articulated my thoughts well enough. But it feels like people want to misinterpret what I'm saying.

  • Yes, that is true. The last 10-20% are usually the hardest. I think LLM's only become slightly better with each generation at first. My prediction is, there will be another big step forward towards AGI when these models can learn from interacting with themself. And this also might result in a potentially dangerous AGI.

My take on AI is obvious, but I have not seen it anywhere.

First of all, the take that LLM are just Parrots without being able to think for themself is dumb. They do in a limited way! And they are an impressive step compared to what we had before them.

Secondly, the take that LLMs are dumb and make mistakes that takes more work to correct compared to do the work yourself from the start. That is something I often hear from programmers. That might be true for now!

But the important question is how will they develop! And now my take, that I have not seen anywhere besides it is quite obvious imo.

For me, the most impressive thing about LLMs is not how smart they are. The impressive thing is, how much knowledge they have and how they can access and work with this knowledge. And they can do this with a neuronal network with only a few billion parameters. The major flaws at the moment is their inability to know what they don't know and what they can't answer. They hallucinate instead of answering a question with "I don't know." or "I am not sure
