  • I'm not against experimentation and changing things. I liked Material 2 but Material 3 is an improvement in every way. Even some of the changes in this redesign are pretty good. My main issue is with the blur. I don't think it works well with bold contrasting colors that Material aims to use.

And regarding your point on icon shapes, I kind of get it but also I get the reasoning of having uniform sizes — it does look better. I wish there was a way to have different shapes that are uniform in size. They've made these new various shapes and they look nice but it would be even nicer if we could apply different shapes to different icons, and not use one shape exclusively for everything.

  • I don't like it. Blur makes most of the UI less readable.

  • I got a used 2080 Ti about a year ago and pretty much everything runs great in 1440p, not on top graphics but I don't really need that. Don't even see a reason to upgrade with all these crazy prices.

  • Well according to the article, it'll lessen the notifications of the channels you don't engage with, as I understand it's the notifications you often dismiss that will suffer. So if you click on those rarely-uploading ones every time, you should be safe.

  • I wish someone made a compact car with this square design. I want another Honda e, I don't want a crossover.

  • 100% the same here. After Sync for Reddit, all Lemmy apps felt ranging from janky to ugly and unusable. I was so happy when Sync for Lemmy launched. Unfortunately the updates died down and the dev went silent for too long, so I had to search for an alternative. All of the other apps still feel janky or ugly or both, but Summit actually covers everything I need from a Lemmy app. I still think Sync is a little bit better in terms of design but not by much. And Summit has other advantages so even if Sync comes back alive, I don't plan to switch back.

  • Jesus is helping the ones that are less fortunate and are less able, he's propping them up so they would have less trouble in the society.

Which means Jesus is a socialist.

  • The metal frame makes the phone feel much more solid. The 120 Hz screen is an incredible improvement, 60 Hz screens feel laggy now. The camera is noticeably better, I've always considered 4a's camera to be way above its price range in terms of quality but 8a beats it. And also I like that 8a comes in mint, that's always been my favorite color.

  • Well I can't say that. I got an 8a and honestly it's been a solid upgrade in all regards. It is a little bit too big for me (4a was sized perfectly) but other than that, I enjoy 8a more.

  • I gave my old 4a to my father who enjoyed it tremendously. This bullshit update ruined the phone for him. Battery replacement helped but I really don't see how such updates are okay to push for a company this big. They know there are two types of batteries and one of those can't handle the update, because they've sent a warning to those phones. Maybe just don't push the update to those phones instead?

  • Well it was kinda logical when the PSN account was required, in the sense that you can't activate it in the country it's sold in because PSN doesn't work in that country (another question is why it doesn't but let's not focus on that). But since there is no more PSN requirement then there's nothing stopping people from activating it so it makes no sense to region lock it now.

  • Still region-locked unfortunately, at least for now.

  • I'm sure they can design it in a way to work with existing tires. But I'm also sure there's zero chance replacing these wheels will be anywhere near cheap.

  • Honestly not against it. Reviews are useless for these system core apps. But the descriptions should include some useful info on what this specific app does instead of just being two lines rewording the app's title.

  • Literally the only rule Musk follows is the rule of power. Legal shit means nothing, might is right. So yeah, govs should deal with him the same way before it's too late.

  • Not always, Apex Legends added a 3v3 Arenas mode on smaller maps way after the initial battle royale release.

  • I didn't get upset, irate or angry though. None of my questions were hostile. I was keeping a softer tone than you did in any of your responses. In fact, from my side, you seem pretty angry right about now. Maybe you are, maybe you are not. I don't really care.

Regarding your "tiki bar" comment — last I checked, this is a Games community, not a Steam community. I stated my opinion, like you said. I know the opinion of the capital G Gamer on Epic Store perfectly well. The thing is that I enjoy poking people into their hypocrisies every now and then, in hopes that they will spot the contradictions in their argument and that will make them think for themselves a little bit. But I guess the capital G Gamers are not the best audience for these exercises.

  • Thank you for bringing me up to date on all the Epic Store hate opinions, not like I've read that a million times before. I'm glad you decided that the conversation was about the store when my original comment was about a game. Why are you changing the topic of discussion?

The "one specific game" wasn't mentioned, yes. Just to me it's pretty weird to make decisions on whether I like the game or not, based on the store and not the quality of the game itself. So I stated my opinion on that part specifically. You know, how commenting typically works in platforms such as this.

Support Android 15's Predictive Back gesture?

One thing I really like about Android 15 is the way back navigation is animated. Unfortunately, not a lot of apps support it since this was not available for a while and a lot of apps rolled their custom solutions. Maybe you could change that in Sync?
