It's not secure messaging if it can be monitored
Forgejo (what codeberg uses) can be selfhosted too
Next they'll say "not giving your entire life savings to google considered harmful".
Shshshshshsh. We don't say that part out loud 👀
If you don't care about Nintendo games. Go for the deck 100%
Another hypothetical but ( probably very) unlikely scenario: if two people were cahoots and one accuses the other, and the other was willing to go through with the chemical castration, and manage to prove it in court, and then the alleged offender gets exonerated ( be it with prepared evidence or the accuser admitting they mistakenly identified them ), isn't the UK just doing a bankruptcy speedrun?
Given the stage of capitalism we're in, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people did this. Or at least attempt it regardless of how stupid it is? People have done riskier, stupider, and more convoluted things for a LOT less. If that happens en masse, actual victims get less attention and sex crimes start getting taken less seriously.
Soo I'm not discussing the ethics of it here but what if the offender gets exonerated? Free pass to sue for millions + more millions because they were wrongfully incarcerated?
You know who would be a great candidate for such an author? Patrick Rothfuss.
/s if it wasn't obvious
Yeah. I thought it would be a superficial video too at first but dude has drunk the koolaid and is several kilometers down the rabbit hole.
Some people are going to bounce off, but this kind of publicity for linux from the once most subscribed youtube channel is great. Most videos about linux don't exactly fit the recommendation bill for a lot of Youtube viewers. Also not to mention that he emphasizes that he is "not a tech guy". And to add to that, his channel is a primarily gaming channel meaning people will not write linux off thinking it can't play any games.
If nothing else, I bet a good chunk of people will be crediting this video as the reason why they got into linux/FOSS and even STEM in general in the future.

They're still region locked on steam so I wouldn't hold my breath on this one.
Yeah the free beer thing is what I use to explain what the "free" doesn't mean. "Free as in freedom. Not free as in free beer."
I heard that the creator of the MMO had people they knew within ycombinator at the time. I wonder if it's something similar this time around. Eitherway, it's not a good look for ycombinator
Now run Doom on it.
You'll find blog spam and ai slop if you look it up online. Systemd's website/man pages should be the resource that brings me up to speed.
I had to read about run0 and other upcoming systemd features from Lennart's Mastodon which I'm not a fan of either. These kinds of things should be on the systemd website itself.
I think if systemd were documented in a more consumable format (the man pages need better organization IMO) more people would see how powerful it is. Mounting directories with BindPath, and BindPathRO, Limiting systemcalls, socket activation and cgroup integration, and nspawn containers are features I can't live without.
I feel like a lot of people that get attached to the "It tries to do everything and it's against the unix philosophy" argument might change their minds when they see the tradeoffs. It has its problems for sure, but you get a lot out of it.
These days I don't even use docker containers for running services. I just put it in a systemd service and lock it down as tightly as I can.
I really hope they adopt this. Not just for tech. To me, the world would become a little bit more interesting with a payment card called a DomCard™ in it.
