Play with others. Finding a community of friends who accept your challenges and want to see you succeed will turbo charge your ability. Also you get live feedback and each "performance" is pressure to practice towards.

Still wondering, are leftists just going to share memes or is this suggesting we start building bombs? The message I keep getting is that voting alone doesn't work, that liberals, even liberal protests, don't work, that peaceful resistance doesn't work.

Can confirm. I've gone full-time gigging musician. Don't get me wrong, I chose this path after exhausting all other options because it's the only career I can stomach, but when you make your hobby your job, your hobby becomes your job.
I've managed to pay rent and bills, but I still got credit card debt from the beginning when I was really scraping by. Every month feels like I'm unemployed until I get saved by a big gig, but it is quite terrifying still.

We actually are going hard AF. Brandon Johnson sucks in many ways but at least his administration helped get us prepared for the ICE raids so much so that the head of ICE made public mention of his outrage for Chicago because of how hard we made their jobs. I stood toe to toe with the CPD in 2020, I marched in 2025, I sure as hell am not going to sit it out this time.
Enough with this "Americans aren't doing anything" bullshit. I'm fucking proud of my city for the hell we have raised, and we will be making sure Trump's troops get their asses handed to them in a fuckin deep dish pizza.
But maybe you're thinking of New York which is run by a bootlicker who just let them waltz right on in.
Just note it's best to take our idealism to the primaries- it's the most effective it will ever be in a race to convince the electorate and the party that internal change needs to happen. It's hard to make those arguments in the general election because many, many people will move from idealism to pragmatism and are more willing to swallow bitter pills.
Also protest and burn things so take note of that.
