  • I know you people in the middle and lower classes don’t understand, but this poor man now has to pull up to yacht club in a smaller boat, and he will only be able to afford 3 additional vacation homes this year. For you plots, that’s like… showing up to a team meeting without a Starbucks cup and having a “coffee shop” cup, or going to work and pulling out a bagged lunch instead of going out to eat. Think of how this will impact his mental health and his social status. Smh.

  • This silhouette feels like it’s stolen from every major gun, but isn’t an actual AR. That upper is closer to an AK slant at the rear and the forward barrel shroud is odd. Although I’ve seen some magpul esque 3rd party stuff.

That said, 5.56 is a round I’d be switching off of for everyone else. It’s ubiquitous, but the military is switching away from it due to body armor resistance to 5.56. Now .308 and 300 black out… most of the gun nuts all agree that the best bugout bag gun is an FN-FAL. Excellent stopping power, highly accurate, controllable, and has some great built-in features that make it perfect for survival on the front lines.

  • Totally forgot it was school shooting season.

For those outside the US, April is statistically VERY high for school shootings. Mostly because columbine took place in April and all copycats have since followed.

  • I actually think regulation is how we got them, but not in a known bad way. Originally car headlights had little to no standards, but eventually people realized they’re important to safety and so testing started happening to ensure that headlights met a minimum safety rating. The problem is that the testing was done from the drivers seat, and based on light projection in front of the vehicle rather than taking into account other humans looking toward it. I’ve been a big proponent of LED lights that dim when stopped or slowing, and even halogen/ultra dim lights for city driving, and keeping LEDs for brights. LEDs have really made a lot of brights basically useless, but the brightness, and harshness of color temperature is absolutely detrimental to other drivers.

  • At this point it doesn’t even matter. Whatever I type out will have changed in the last 5 minutes because we let some guy run our country based off social media posts. I think it’s currently limited to smartphones, laptops and computer chips. Which to me is basically all the tech we were trying to “bring back” but who knows anymore.

    ¯(ツ)_/¯

  • Not only that, this was his whole argument for tariffs. China didn’t even “negotiate” like all his supporters said they would. He just did it because the economy is fucked because his big brain move turned out to be awful for safety of the economy. Which wasn’t working for all of us anyways, but is certainly better than working for literally only the .01%.

  • Based on my LinkedIn and various market segments each of my friends on their is in… I’d agree we’re in one. Lots of talented people suddenly looking for a job. The question for me is how long is this going to be a recession, and dumbass leads me to believe it’ll be 3 years and like 10 months of this bullshit.

  • Doesn’t matter, isolationism.

That said, I am curious enough to ask my MAGA parents at some point how they mentally deal with Trump now saying DOW doesn’t matter and who cares if prices go up vs his first term where that was all he would talk about other presidents doing…

Trump is right though in that we shouldn’t care about the DOW.

  • Teslas are not upper class. They’re cheap, shitty cars. The handful of people driving Cybertrucks are paying 100k, but that’s not because they’re upper class, they’re just financially irresponsible.

  • Now $1250 to fix since parts tariffs are coming in May. As an owner of an AMG this is annoying and while I have the money to ignore these impacts it’s still frustratingly stupid that it’s even happening at this level. Every part to repair my car usually has to be shipped from Germany which means you and I will be paying more.

Also, new German cars are mostly touch screens and capacitive buttons. So they need frequent electrical components when they fail.

Also, 99% of German car buyers were the same people paying double for a G wagon during COVID and are now so upside down in their loan that the cars are falling like a rock for pricing. Those people have jobs that generally depend on a healthy economy…
