  • Exactly. I prefer yours I think

  • This is why when my daughter announced she was gay, I was absolutely thrilled. She gets to go on this new journey with the part of humanity that 1) can't cause a teen pregnancy and 2) much less abusive

  • It can still be from the drivers point of view. This just makes more sense to me...

  • It should have them going in opposite directions

  • How can the bill not say fluoride specifically but mentions "certain additives". Surely it must list what those certain additives are? Odd.

  • This sort of shit needs to fuck off. The whole ml Vs world or whatever is so dumb. We are on this tiny social network that feels like the internet of old. Where we meet people online not just the once but likely often as we traverse the fediverse. But this shit, this hatred, does not belong here.

  • Thank you for this insight. I'll be more aware if this in the future.

  • I've never really understood the whole ADHD thing. They never spoke about it when I was a kid, and I'm skeptical about it now. Probably me just being an old codger.

But something that happens all the damn time is during my driving. I listen to an audiobook for any journey but I end up relistening to the same part constantly rewinding because I get distracted either just in my own thoughts or to what is happening around me. And this meme depicts exactly that. Interesting.

  • You missed the point there. The moral thing to do is to not deport either of them.

  • Holy shit this. I just want to play Elden Ring but I'm too busy playing dad taxi, house cleaner, DIY do'er. Give me a week on my own.

  • Fight police with capitalism!

  • What response from an instance admin on this situation would have been expected/acceptable?

  • Certainly not cheering on. I'm amazed at how fast things turned for the worse. Back in Reddit days the sheer fuckton of American politics posts and comments were overwhelming. Today it's full on ludicrous speed.

But I get it. Your comment makes me reflect. I'm not living there, I'm not experiencing it first hand.

As a human race we are fucked. I'm watching the "ww2 in colour" series at the moment, and seeing the rampaging and senseless death makes me sad. But hearing how the world came together to push back an opposite force gave me hope. If the same thing happened today, I don't think we as a race would be capable of such a feat again, and mostly because of all the infighting.

  • Beyond my expectations I said. I'm not upset, I'm just surprised.

  • This is off the rails now. A probably fake exchange depicting a creep triggering such a responding comment is beyond all my expectations.

  • Android @lemmy.world

    Alternative to Nvidia Shield

The shield is a great device, but I'm starting to notice some considerable lag at times.

Before I factory reset it, is there a good alternative?

I have an older Apple TV I'm going to try but I'd prefer to stay Android.

    Features I'd want are

    • Android TV
    • Netflix and Jellyfin support
    • Powerful / fast
    • Similar codec support, however only for compatibility. I'm not needing HDR or Atmos etc. Some of my family are deaf so we watch with subtitles and have a simple speaker setup.

    They scared now

I was just thinking. In the UK government every cabinet minister, which are those with specific jobs like head of education, or health, also has an opposite "shadow" person from the other main party whose job is to argue with the other. Imagine you had the job of Shadow head of education. Must be an easy job, you just argue with the other guy. But then your party wins the election and things just got real. You got to do the job for serious now.

    Extra long images are unreadable

Sync grabs images using an option for max length of 1500px, so the super long images are just a smattering of pixels that barely represent the original image.

I can't find a way in the app to get a better quality version. I end up opening a web browser to view.

    RB5009 Passive PoE doesn't support 24V devices

Annoyingly, the RB5009 doesn't have a voltage regulator on its PoE-out ports. So it outputs ~48V, but other Mikrotik devices that support PoE-in only support ranges like 20-34V.

There is a solution! And I wanted to share it with you guys as my first post :)

    48V-to-24V in-line convertor: https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-poe-Converter-48V-to-24V.html

This will convert the output from the RB5009 to 24V. Tested with PoE-out on RB5009UPr+S+ and PoE-in on CSS106-5G-1S.

The RB5009 is a fantastic device.

Latest Steam hardware survey, resolution results seem off?

    3840x1080 at 60%?

    1920x1080 not in the list?

I'd of expected that to be the most popular.
