  • Thanks! My personal use case would mostly be YouTube (with adblock, maybe in browser or in separate app), some German TV stations, and some stuff from an external drive.

    Maybe I'll try it with SteamOS first and get a separate box if it's not sufficient. But the question could also be relevant to other people with other needs, too.

  • Also mein persönlicher Bedarf ist so 2-10GB/Monat. Bei Familie aber auch mit sehr unterschiedlichen Werten und da versuche ich natürlich auch zu helfen bei der Auswahl. Nur im Moment habe ich eben selber keinen Plan, was für Anbieter gut sind.

    Jaa, da hab ich schlechte Neuigkeiten…

    Verstehe den Pessimismus. Ich glaube/hoffe, dass Menschen da schon drauf achten. Nur die Angebote müssen auch ehrlich und überzeugend nachhaltig wirken und dürfen halt nicht extrem viel teurer sein. 1€/Monat für echte Nachhaltigkeit wäre glaube ich bei vielen drin. Leider lässt es sich besonders bei großen Unternehmen schlecht von 5€/Monat für Greenwashing unterscheiden. Und dann nimmt man halt die billigste Option, obwohl Nachhaltigkeit eigentlich was gutes ist.

  • Danke für den Link, den hatte ich auch schon gefunden. Nachhaltigkeit ist natürlich schwierig, aber bei Wetell siehts doch ganz gut aus. Auch mit dem Bericht von WeHi (https://feddit.org/post/19094135/9015662) sicher interessant.

  • Danke. Fühlt sich ein klein wenig zu teuer an (vor allem 3 und 7 GB), aber ist noch im Rahmen. Die Staffelung der GB-Mengen ist auch etwas unkonventionell (nichts zwischen 7 und 20), aber es lässt sich schon was passendes finden. Immerhin sehr transparent bzgl. ihrem Engagement zu Nachhaltigkeit. Finds cool, dass sie mit in Lützerath waren.

  • They are, of course, right in their statement. But why do all those scientists still believe that one more statement will do any good? We've had 6 IPCC reports and thousands of papers and guides for policy makers and such. We do not have an information problem, we have an action problem. If they want to stand for science, they need to actually stand and not just write. It's ironically rather unscientific to keep doing things that have not worked in the past.

    They should look at Peter Kalmus, for example. He's doing good.
