  • (stolen from somewhere on Lemmy)

  • It took me far too long to realize this is bare footprints in snow and not wet footprints on a sunny sidewalk.

  • Most of what I would have suggested has already been posted by others, but I can say Kruggsmash's Dwarf Fortress stories do this for me. The Waddlesquash/Kingdom of Autumn series he did (with the pumpkin mod) is particularly laid back, but even the action-heavy series are calming to watch/listen to.

    https://youtube.com/@kruggsmash

  • Even if you came across his current videos completely unaware of his history, his content has gotten progressively worse - at least his Musk stuff (the only thing of his I've tried watching recently). All of his Elon Musk videos are bloated with recycled memes, repeating the same points, and congratulating himself on how smart/right he is. It's insufferable even if you dont know his ugly personal views and history.

  • I don't even remember who made them, but the little single serve cups of chocolate ice cream with the wooden spoon

  • Just to throw this out there - you do not need to have surgery to be trans or to deserve validation

ETA: not trying to knock the comic, just wanted to stress the point, as I've met plenty of people who seen to believe if you've not had surgery then you're still not really trans

  • dude looks like Myron from Fallout 2

  • Femboys are you doing today or tomorrow night for me to come in and get a ride

  • New Belgium is the shit. Trippel in particular is delicious.

  • That YouTube comment is absolutely insane 🤪

  • No, thank you! I love any opportunity to share spood info, and orbweavers are amazing! The fact that they use their webs as giant ear drums (no seriously, watch the videos!) blew me away when I saw it.

And there's so much I learned about spiders growing up that's just plain wrong but still repeated, it's exciting never knowing what new thing you'll learn (or old misconception you'll UNlearn) when you start looking into spiders and their behaviors.

OK I better shut up and leave before someone asks me about jumping spiders.

  • I do too.

    Be blown away by Orbweavers

A whole video on just their webs

Travis McEnery's entire channel is gold

Bonus pic of a friend's wild caught Orbweaver that they've been rehabbing indoors after they watched it get stung by a wasp caught in its web on their back porch:

  • Apologize accepted 🤝

  • Congratulations! What a cutie! :3

This comic is so true it hurts. Our most recent addition is from a litter of a feral cat that literally fell through our friend's ceiling. She was tending to her kittens she had hidden in the attic, after finding a way in through a damaged vent or something. This was after I had already saved this comic to my phone and shared it with my partner, btw. I blame myself.

Northern Lights from the Columbia River Gorge

A cellphone shot of the gorgeous aurora tonight. It wasn't quite this dramatic to the naked eye, but this is actually pretty representative of what we could see. I have a bunch of other pics too but I'm sure there will be pics everywhere tomorrow from better photographers.

Been test-driving a Crafty+ and it's definitely a big step up from my Dynavap B

It's been a few days of using the Crafty+ in various ways, trying out all the functions, disassembling & cleaning it, etc.

Overall I'm blown away by the performance and it very much feels like an upgrade from my Dynavap in every way. Cant really find anything to complain about other than the dosing caps/lids being small and a bit of a pain to open sometimes.

Still love my Dynavap but this feels like a better fit for a daily driver for me. Luckily my buddy has two and can sell me the spare if I decide I want to buy it.

Side note: mixing bubble hash into ground flower and then vaping that mix in a dosing cap is my new favorite thing.

If you've never seen cannabonsai before, check this guy's channel out. Even if you don't grow yourself, the process is fascinating and the results are gorgeous!

"PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah County is investigating a second suspected heat death as a heat wave continues to push temperatures into the triple-digit range.

A Portland-area hospital reported the death Tuesday when temperatures in the city soared to 102. The county did not specify how the person arrived at the hospital.

This is the second suspected heat death related to the mid-August heat wave. The first involved a person found dead in Southeast Portland on Monday. The county medical examiner’s office is working to confirm whether the cause of both deaths was heat-related.

Multnomah County has opened cooling shelters over the past few days, and also ramped up outreach to seniors and other vulnerable people who may not have air conditioning. A spokesperson said those groups have been at most risk in recent heat events - like the 2021 heat dome."

    Remnants of Portland's Unbuilt Freeways

Portland, Oregon's freeway network is only a fraction of what was originally planned. This documentary takes a look at three proposed freeways that were nearly built, the neighborhood revolts that led to their cancellation, and remnants of these projects that are still visible today.

This YouTuber does a whole series of these short documentaries on Oregon history that are just great

Enjoying my first bubble hash in the Dynavap thanks to you Ents ✌️

Got my first bubble hash from a buddy and of the ways I've tried it so far (smoked on a bowl, dabbed in a rig, and vaped) I prefer it in the Dynavap the best.

Someone here recommended sandwiching it in between 2 layers of flower, and said no Dynacoil was necessary if you didn't overdo it.

Gave it a shot and it works great even tho my Dyna is the smaller half bowl size. Gives a nice extra kick to the occasional bowl, and I like it more than just adding kief.

I don't know if I'd go buy more bubble hash, but considering how long 3 grams of this shit is going to last me, it won't be an issue for a while.

If you're curious I'd recommend giving it a go. It's about on par with basic resins in terms of price, so it won't break the bank & it's solventless if that's something you prioritize.

Love the colors of this girl, even if she was tiny 🖤💚

She was started late, grown outdoors & I grudgingly had to chop her early. She’s the only plant I’ve grown that had jet black leaves, and the contrast with the bright green buds was just neat.

My first attempt at AVB "firecrackers"

I can't sleep and have heard AVB can used in edibles, so let's fucking go.

Its the middle of the night so I'm looking for quick & low effort. I've got peanut butter here and I've never had firecrackers, so that sounds promising. I have some Nutty Bars here too, so let's use those.

I have no clue on potency so I'm just using what looks like a good amount - 0.4g of AVB to 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter

Oh Glob what have I done

Ok it doesn't look so bad once it's mixed up, but this is prob twice the volume I will need

After cracking open the Nutty Bars and spreading a thick-ish layer of greenut butter, I still have some left over. Whatever maybe I'll eat it later.

Minnesotans are now able to legally possess and grow their own marijuana for recreational purposes, after the Minnesota Legislature approved a 300-page bill earlier this year, and Gov. Tim Walz signed it into law shortly thereafter. It became official Tuesday.
