  • Large empty areas or small airports in class g airspace. Water is a no go, these things kill people when they splash down. There are automatic inflating floatation devices designed for these things to keep them from dragging you down.

  • New ones are sold separate. So you buy the "motor" which has the seat motor prop part and then pair it with a wing that you like. Used is all over the place. I couldn't tell you what new stuff goes for these days cos tariffs but used motors are generally 4-6k and wings are around 1500 used.

  • I've been flying experimental for my whole life and a bunch of my friends have these things too. A good deal popped up on marketplace so I jumped on it. Now I'm waiting for spring so I can bang out some training and practice.

  • I put solar panels and battery storage on my house because my local utility is a publicly traded group of thieves. As much of the system as possible has been bought used except for the batteries.

    In that, I buy used as much as possible. Fuck buying new, let someone else buy that 1100 dollar phone I'll buy it on ebay 2 years later for half that.

    I deleted my Amazon and am currently de-googling the best I can.

  • This is essentially how safety training works at my job. We pay some crazy subscription fee per employee to have access to this safety training site that just redirects to other websites that have the actual training on them.
