Also the first barrier of picking a server (how it works, the rules of every instance, checking who they federate with) and an app (the will to test multiple apps, learning that to login you have to input the server url manually since most aren't listed in the apps), to the people who read all the things it's tedious but doable, for the rest it's "Which one is the RIGHT choice?" and just stay at the door.

Also servers with poorly written rules don't help (example: mstdn.mx says porn and politics are forbidden, but in reality they allow them as long as you tag then properly).

These kind of posts don't help either, because it makes people feel like they are too stupid to join and rather stick to the known services, but omit all the actual process that someone has to go through.

Users are free to download Threads and go lick zucc's balls if they so desire, instances are just protecting themselves and the responsability that comes with it.

Not sure now, but at the time they had 4 moderators for the whole instance, this while the big Reddit migration was happening so it was a bomb waiting to blowup, also they've stated before that they want/plan to make it a safespace so they are not exactly made for federation since they'll have to end up blocking a lot of instances to achieve that.

Meh, I already had the game since Alpha (way before it got like 1 or 2 updates via the launcher), got the Beta/Steam version upgrade for free, if it gets updated that's good, if not I don't lose anything, no need to go all "no updates so game is dead forever" specially now that they are finally showing things for a future update.

Still looking for a worthy replacement (Veloren is cool and all but something is missing that just can't seem to keep my interest).

The Cube World dev has posted a couple of news for an upcoming update (basically going back to what the Alpha was, new engine and new things), altough nobody knows when/if it will be released, but it sure took a long time.
