  • I'm just some rando with no expertise to speak of .. but .. I just installed Vivaldi on Android and went to
    https://coveryourtracks.eff.org/ and https://amiunique.org/fingerprint.

    After testing Vivaldi, they both say it has a unique fingerprint.

    Do these sites really tell the fingerprint story or is there more to it?

  • I'm very new to docker. (Debian server) Have a few simple things running locally. Using tailscale outside of lan. How do I deploy this using Dockge? I've tried the compose files in Dockge. I tried the 'run' in docker... Keep getting "bad request". Something about adding my server address to the host file.. I got paperless ngx, Stirling PDF, and mealie going pretty easily by copy/paste from their installation pages.

  • I was going through a box of old computer junk and found an original Halo DVD. I dug out an ancient Windows laptop and the damn thing booted up. So I installed Halo ran through the single player version and a couple days later could not believe that there were still servers online. There weren't many to choose from so I picked anything and I couldn't believe that the same shit is going on now as it was all those years ago. Everyone glitching swearing throwing around racial slurs and talking shit about everybody's mother. At first I laughed and then I realized how fucking sad it is. Snapped the DVD in half, smashed the laptop, and went to sleep.

    looking for music playback to bluetooth speakers

    tldr;

    i need an always on, always connected music player that connects to Bluetooth speakers.. without a battery

    I have built-in bt speakers in some bedroom furniture. they have a remote that controls volume, play, and pause. they're really meant to connect to an 'always-on' device like a tv. when i connect my phone, they loudly exclaim "bluetooth connected", and "bluetooth disconnected" when the phone bt is turned off or if the phone leaves the area. i like to fall asleep to some relaxing stuff and when i leave in the morning, it of course, wakes up my wife. no good. i've been using a tiny, old android phone (kitkat), always on, always connected. i have a playlist of 50 things that are played randomly and in an infinite loop, but turns off with a timer set from the remote. the remote works well. but, i don't like have a charging battery next to the bed all day and night. AND, i'm not thrilled about the old ass phone that i can't really do anything with.

    so, i'm totally overwhelmed

  • I own 4 of them. I've never gotten the hardware limiter function to work. Spent too much time trying. It's basic charge limiting functions are hit or miss too. I've woken up SO many times to a 100% charged battery. I don't get responses to emails. The app is updated a lot. I really wanted these to work, but now that Graphene had the 80% feature, these will be forgotten in a drawer for a few years, then go to the trash. Good luck. Hope yours works out.

    I installed Cosmic on my current system following steps here.. https://github.com/pop-os/cosmic-epoch?tab=readme-ov-file#installing-on-pop_os BUT, I was reading somewhere else also, and that post said to not enable the Cosmic login screen, because it was buggy. So I didn't. I CAN NOT find that post, and i can't figure out what the *(!@&^%# I did. I want to know HOW to enable the Cosmic login screen. I believe I edited some config file.. don't know what... HELP please.

    Wireless dongle

    Anyone have experience and an opinion on a solid wireless dongle brand? I'm leaning towards the Motorola one just because of the name and decent reviews.
