  • I think it depends entirely on the card, I've seen some cards for sale for absurd money but it's mostly the rare or high end cards. There might still be value in the low end stuff, the vintage computer scene is weird.

  • In case you are seriously asking this is from Wikipedia.

Intended to bolster domestic employment and manufacturing, the tariffs instead deepened the Depression because the U.S.'s trading partners retaliated with tariffs of their own, leading to U.S. exports and global trade plummeting. Economists and historians widely regard the act as a policy misstep, and it remains a cautionary example of protectionist policy in modern economic debates.

    Soooo much much worse.

  • I mean I'm sure the Trump admin has alternate motives, since they lie about everything, but the US has definitely been bombing the Houthis in Yeman since at least 2016.

Here's an article from the Guardian dated in late 2016 announcing the US first strike on the rebel group.

  • The price things gets me too. I was actually talking about this with a coworker a couple months ago. I live alone so I'm not doing nearly the amount of laundry that some people are doing but even then that last bottle of laundry detergent I bought cost me like 9 bucks and took a bit over 2 years to go through. I think I'm fine spending 4.50 a year on my laundry supplies.

  • "Everybody is a Ferrari fan, even if they're not; they are a Ferrari fan. Even if you go to the Mercedes guys and they say, 'Oh yeah, Mercedes is the greatest brand in the world,' they are Ferrari fans."

  • The technology connections video talking about 240v power mentioned some apartment buildings having 208v because they're bringing in two phases instead of center tapping or whatever. So their comment could be right in the correct locations i think.

    I'm clearly no sparky.

  • This is exactly the plan. Last week the GSA put out a list of 400 federal buildings they wanted to sell, a list that included buildings like the FBI headquarters. They want to sell these building to private owners then make up any shortfalls in space with leases from them.

  • 50 bucks actually gets you a ticket to watch on an old CRT hanging in a bar in Reno. The good news is it somehow also covers one night at circus circus, the bad news is it doesn't include anyway to get between Vegas and Reno and your definitely going to miss the race if you have to drive between them.
