Comparing PeerTube to YouTube is a little inaccurate. They are both video platforms, but honestly loops is closer to a YouTube experience than peertube. And neither of them are particularly close.
I love the sound of this. Kind of a decentralized Next door but better? I've been really wanting a place for some local communities to organize that isn't Facebook. Perhaps I'll spin up an instance and see if I can get some interest.
I've been using Continuwuity for a bit. Its pretty solid, but its not quite as smooth as Synapse in some ways. I've used several different clients successfully with it, but the pain of syncing the encryption is a real turn off. It needs to be MUCH smoother if matrix wants real adoption by non-techies.
I like my NextCloud instance, but the interop with Google Calendar is really poor. I rely on bringing my calendars and my fiancé's shared google Calendars to my android via DAVx5 so I can have them in one place. I haven't found a satisfactory way of seeing both sets of calendars in NextCloud or Google Calendar. Or in desktop calendar apps for that matter.
Fifth Wing maybe? Lots of romance but its got a fun story and lots of entertaining characters. MC is a strong female character, but maybe not overly feminine. About as feminine as any other woman in a warrior-centric culture I guess.
Loops is pretty great these days
