Too much unnecessary Russophobia in this. It’s like blaming every US citizen for the evil things that the US government and big tech corporations like Google, Meta etc. do. Stop that generalisation.
But it will prevent new customers!
I also tested Linux on the Surface 2 Go once, I think Fedora, but it just wasn't smooth and stable enough. Constantly some kind of misbehavior. So I went back to Windows after all.
One of the biggest benefits with Mailbox.org is that you can create lots of aliases and trash mail addresses. Killer feature for me!
What’s up with Proton?
I never trusted them 100% so I never paid for their services and didn’t really follow up with their privacy and stuff. Just used their free services from time to time.

It is a different concept compared to YT. It is more oriented towards professional content creators, not like the original idea of YT that „YOU“ tube (share) something random.
Also there are examples where Nebula stops collaborating with creators due to weird guidelines, so basically indirect censoring. Checkout out the YT channel „Second Thought“. And I mean if YT still allows that content but Nebula doesn’t…
I thought about it too but I don’t see any other benefit buying a used Pixel besides that it isn’t a new phone from Google.
- Battery life will be shorter already
- It isn’t the newest model so it won’t get the longest period of updates
What smartphone to buy and what CustomROM to use?
I am looking for a new Android smartphone (currently on iOS).
Obviously I read about GrapheneOS as the „Gold Standard“ of alternative OS. But the downside is that it only runs on Pixels. Which is kinda weird to buy a device from a company you want to „boycott“ (de-Google).
On the other hand I kinda like the approach of Fairphone: most parts are easy repairable, parts are available and cheap compared to Google and Apple. But the downside here is that it isn’t supported by GrapheneOS, doesn’t have the most capable hardware for the price and probably won’t get 7 years of updates like the Pixel 8a in comparison.
So that leaves me with a „analysis paralysis“: I have to choose a device and a CustomROM.
/e/OS does seem interesting but I read some comments that it isn’t that secure like GrapheneOS. I don’t need that high-level of security but it should be significantly more than stock Android to be worth all the hassle by installing/using a CustomROM. On the other hand I don’t want to

I don't really know that myself. I just don't want typical books about ingratiation or manipulation, but advice on how to communicate better and more attentive, for example by paying more attention to not offering solutions directly, but listening first, not judging, also including facial expressions and gestures, respectfully but resolutely addressing other people's misbehavior, and so on.
Looking for two book recommendations (first SciFi and "48 rules of Power" with ethics)

I'm looking for two book recommendations:
- an "entry" book into SciFi. Something that is easy readable. I prefer sth. "positive" or utopian.
- A similar book like "48 rules of power" but without the Machiavellian touch and the religious touch of "How to win Friends and Influence People". Maybe there is something more "universal" available on how to connect to people on a respectful level.
Be cautious/aware, that X is full of bots. Especially since Musk's takeover. They train their AI (Gronk) with the content on X.
