  • (I don't leather craft, but I do plenty of other craft and engineering things.) I used to be pretty stingy about changing blades until I bought a 100 pack. Now I happily change the blade when I feel it getting dull or when I'm starting a new project. I'm ok with having to go over a cut a second time or so, but when the blade is dull enough it's making the cut less clean, it's definitely time to change.

  • I think you are reading this entirely wrong. Throwing the bombs isn't the inspirational part. It's the bad part. The inspirational part is that the Czech forced laborers are rebelling the best they can against the Nazi regime by sabotaging the bombs they are forced to make.

  • It's it a grift if she actually believes what she says? I get the vibe from her that she's sincere but has a bunch of bad opinions and isn't smart or introspective enough to realize or at least realize quickly.

  • I know some phones are starting to work with satellite comms, so these may be replaced by cell phones in the near future heh, maybe not. See the comment below. At least currently, I have several friends who still have wilderness beacons.

  • That's glucose (and also fructose). The formula in the meme is for sucrose. All three are common sugars that you eat. Table sugar is sucrose, but glucose is what plants create during photosynthesis which is probably where you came across its formula.

  • It would stretch like a rubber band stretches just a lot less. Wood, metal, whatever is slightly flexible. The stick would either get slightly thinner or slightly less dense as you pulled it. Also, you won't be able to pull it much because there's so much stick.

  • I usually use the "all" feed of Lemmy and have blocked a few of the vegan communities just because of how toxic many of the posts were. This is all from stumbling across them and never seeking them out. It's really sad because seeing things like vegan recipes and food substitute ideas is something I'd love in my feed.
