What I have heard from the other side (because I believe all news is biased so I consume as many opposing sources as I can) is that the rival gang for which he applied for asylum from, it doesn't exist anymore. So asylum rejected I guess. I've only had eight days off in the last six months so I don't have time to do real research. But I appreciate whenever I see sources for claims. I don't believe much outside that.
I have heard the guards takes and I think I have a grasp on the nature of the event. I've also watched tons of videos including unprompted violence and also the guards letting people in, giving no resistance at all. It was a fucked up day, but was anything I said untrue?
Probably because there were only a few guns found, and he sent mixed messages including telling people to be peaceful and later to go home. I've even seen threads here where people admit it wasn't a real insurrection. It was less violent than things that have happened in places like Seattle - and I get that different rules apply at the Capitol - but bottom line it wasn't a slam dunk as disqualifying him in the public's opinion.
I have questions and I don't know the facts. Was he a non-citizen? Was he sentenced to prison by the US or El Salvador? My understanding is the Constitutional bar for deportation of non-citizens is pretty low, but sentencing someone to prison requires due process. Unless he wasn't sentenced here, but there.
Yeah that makes sense, I doubt they're designed to handle the weight of a grown man, even a fit one.
That's what I was going to say. Kids shoes are cheaper.
I'm 5'10" with a size 14 shoe, and it's frustrating because they stop making half sizes above 12 which means it's often difficult to find a good fitting shoe. I also have a 6'5" wingspan so shirts always either have too short of sleeves, or they are way too long on the torso.
I was okay with keyword results. If you knew what you were dealing with in the search engine, you could usually find what you were looking for.
It been a downhill slope that just keeps getting steeper. They're basically falling off a cliff right now, and their parachute is improving AI.
It could easily be someone who goes to church. My church has a community meal and a food pantry, and a lot of people who are welcome and who come for church services are homeless or food-insecure or addicts. And honestly anything that isn't locked up walks away way too often. Jesus called for the church to serve the hurting and broken and needy so it shouldn't be a surprise. You know what though? A lot of those people are willing to volunteer time and even give a little when they can.
But the rich assholes that don't tip and treat their servers like shit, they usually don't help the church at all in any way. Maybe they throw in $20 a couple times a year to appease their conscience. Continue berating them by all means.
Yeah they're 20, 17 and 15. It could still be a few more years but we're making changes to keep the living room more free. It's also been extra challenging because for the last six months my job has been going through big changes and I haven't had an office at work either, which is why I've been working at home more. I can't tell you how many hours I've worked standing in my kitchen, sitting at a conference table alone at work, or working from my car or a cafe or something. It's actually been really cool, but sometimes really challenging.
Thank you for the reply. But check your elevation where you live, if I had any money I'd bet that where you sleep is much higher than 100' elevation :)
I don't have a basement or an attic. My oldest sleeps in part of what once was a one car garage garage. It now is a laundry room and a small bedroom. There are many nights when the only place we don't have someone sleeping is the kitchen, the laundry room and the two bathrooms. I really could use an office space tho. I've been working from home more in 2025 than any other year and my PC is in the living room but there are often teenagers sleeping in there and I like to start working around 5am because my wife gets up for work at 4. I'm just waiting it out at this point, one of these kids will move out someday. Right?
Right?
I enjoy coffee but I mostly quit caffeine a few years ago so I don't need my coffee. I do enjoy a quality water-processed decaf a couple of times a week. I like strong and black, no sweetener.
I've owned a few motorcycles and technically I still do but it isn't running and isn't a priority this year. I have other things I'm investing in. You can ride anywhere if you learn to ride super defensively and wear quality gear head to foot.I want to come home to my family every time. It's a ton of fun though and I like to go motocamping.
I like to hike mountains but I'm currently in the eastern US so I only make it to nice mountains about every other year. The Smokies have great challenging hikes but they're no fourteeners. I know that number doesn't make sense to metric people. I've hiked seven mountains over 14k feet, a few of them more than once. The tallest is Mount Whitney in California, the highest point in the contiguous 48 states. I'd like to travel to climb something taller. I'd like to also climb Mount Rainier even though it's a little shorter, just for the winter mountaineering. I already own snow shoes, crampons, Ice axe etc. I'm getting older so it's getting higher on my bucket list.

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
It's one of the reasons why I like edibles.
Do you drink coffee black?
What do you think of motorcycles?
What is the highest elevation you have hiked to?
We don't fit in our house I don't need all three to leave, but I need one of them to. I don't have an office/personal space.
Once the guns get pointed their way there is open war and laws go out the window.
Yes, oligarchs would love if the working class were disarmed.
What solid women have we had as options? I have seen women on social media who were more electable than anyone who made it through either party's gauntlet. At this point I expect our first woman president will be a Republican.

Here's a weird one (PC repair)
My son has my family's oldest gaming PC, it's an i7 4790 with a 1660 TI and 16GB DDR3. It wasn't booting the last couple of days. I had time to look at it so we disconnected everything and threw it on the table with some good light and connected it to power so I could see what it was doing.
It was clear his three case fans were all dying, one was completely dead. One was in poor condition and one was starting to make noise. I already had extra case fans brand new in box sitting in my house, but I assumed old fans weren't what was keeping it from booting.
We removed all three bad fans, and with the case wide open, both sides front and top removed, I blew it out a little bit with canned air. It wasn't that dirty, just a little bit of dust came out. I checked with my fingers to see that the ram seemed seated and that all the connections seemed okay, but I didn't disconnect and reconnect anything, I just touched it.
I turned on the PC with no case fans (only an old CPU cooler connect
