US FDA suspends milk quality tests amid workforce cuts

  • You want them all to die for your evil cause.

TBF, most Westerners are misinformed about why the US wanted this war, so I usually don’t accuse them of being aligned with those interests. They usually imagine Ukraine as Western corporate media want them to imagine it: as a peaceful, monocultural European liberal democracy which was suddenly invaded unprovoked by an imperialist autocrat bent on conquering all of Europe.

  • Which Ukrainians?

    • The oligarchs?
    • The Banderites?
    • The eastern & southern Ukrainians, who, after the Maidan coup, declared independence from an unelected government, and were subsequently terrorized by the Banderites for nearly a decade, with tacit and overt support from the Ukrainian and US governments?
    • The men being pulled off the streets and pushed to the front lines against their will?

    Previously. Previously.

  • When you have to go back 93 years to the Great Depression to find an example, you’ve made my point.

FDR did what he did to save capitalism from the threat of socialist revolution, and politicians have spent the last three generations clawing back the concessions he had made to socialist & labor agitators. They also purged socialists from labor unions, and they purged and even assassinated communists, to avoid any such thing happening again.

Chris Hedges, America: The Farewell Tour:

The New Deal, as Franklin Delano Roosevelt said, saved capitalism. It was put in place because socialists were a strong and serious threat. The oligarchs understood that with the breakdown of capitalism—something I expect we will again witness in our lifetimes—there was a possibility of a socialist revolution. They did not want to lose their wealth and power. Roosevelt, writing to a friend in 1930, said there was “no question in my mind that it is time for the country to become fairly radical for at least one generation. History shows that where this occurs occasionally, nations are saved from revolution.” In other words, Roosevelt went to his fellow oligarchs and said, “Hand over some of your money or you will lose all your money in a revolution.” And they complied. That is how the government created fifteen million jobs, Social Security, unemployment benefits, and public works projects. The capitalists did not do this because the suffering of the masses moved them to pity. They did this because they were scared.

  • I just think its swell that leftist is now cisgender heternormative and white.

  • If you’d developed class consciousness, you’d understand why neither party enacts progressive policies despite their popularity. Previously:

The US government was never not captured by the bourgeoisie, because the US was born of a bourgeois revolution[1]. The wealthy, white, male, land-owning, largely slave-owning Founding Fathers constructed a bourgeois state with “checks and balances” against the “tyranny of the majority”. It was never meant to represent the majority—the working class—and it never has, despite eventually allowing women and non-whites (at least those not disenfranchised by the carceral system) to vote. BBC: [Princeton & Northwestern] Study: US is an oligarchy, not a democracy

  • I will gladly be a communist liberal.

It is impossible to be a communist/anarchist/socialist/leftist liberal, because communism/anarchism/socialism/leftism are diametrically opposed to liberalism.

  • I enjoyed the time I got that feedback from my manager in my first performance review for my menial bullshit job.

I especially enjoyed my manager’s reaction to my cheery acceptance of her evaluation. She really thought she was going to pull off some reverse psychology on me.

  • Classic BlueAnon Russiagate conspiracy theory.

  • I gotta say, that’s pretty fucked up. Firstly because Marxists are atheist^1. And secondly because, what’s the message here, that the (((cultural Bolsheviks^2)))^3 crucified Jesus^4?

  • They did not all re-win their primaries. See Bernie Sanders, Cory Bush, and Jamal Bowman. And you can’t win a primary when the DNC undemocratically cancels it, as it did last year.

📺 Why the Democratic Party CANNOT and WILL NOT be Reformed

Democrats would rather lose to a Republican, to a conservative, to a fascist, to Trump, than address the material conditions of the American people.

  • Maybe someone should create a relationship advice community, because [email protected] isn’t supposed to be that. It’s supposed to be an r/AskReddit clone.

  • I’ve never run into one myself. ProleWiki/Lemmygrad user Wisconcom was before my time.

A self-proclaimed Hoxhaist (although he would later start calling himself a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist, anti-revisionist, or a Marxist-Leninist-Stalinist... and eventually claimed he was never a Hoxhaist as Hoxhaism “does not exist”) […]

  • This is probably better asked at [email protected], where people may have informed opinions. Asking it here will likely get you mostly uninformed & misinformed opinions.

  • I’ve never come across anyone who calls themselves a “Stalinist.” Maybe that’s what some horseshoe theorists call Marxist-Leninists.

US officials admit they ran the Ukraine war, and risked a worse one

Full text of the paywalled article:

During a recent visit to Washington – the most high-level by a Russian official since the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 – Kremlin envoy Kirill Dmitriev heaped praise on Donald Trump’s efforts to end the Ukraine war.

“President Trump's administration has made tremendous progress” toward peace, Dmitriev said, and moreover, has “stopped World War III from happening.”

In response, an indignant Michael McFaul, the hawkish former US ambassador to Russia, chided what he called “hyperbolic threats about World War III,” which he dismissed as “complete nonsense.”

While Dmitriev’s claim of Trump’s “tremendous progress” on peace in Ukraine may be premature, his invocation of World War III does not seem so objectionable in light of new revelations about how Trump’s predecessor, Joe Biden, escalated the conflict.

Why Liberals Claim to Be Leftists

Natalie Wynn aka Contrapoints aka Natalie Clinton seems very worried about "The Left" always losing and "The Left" criticising her. She can't stop talking about this in her videos which come out three times per decade. Why does she do this, and why do others like her do the same?

One of the most common refrains now, extending from liberals to conservatives, is the reference to “agency” and its supposed denial by anyone who brings attention to imperialism and the acts of Western states. “Oh, you’re pointing to the CIA’s influence in that coup? Well have you considered you’re denying the AGENCY of the people of that country when you say that? CHECKMATE!”

There’s this implication that you’re somehow nefarious, racist, xenophobic, chauvinist when you deny this “agency”, a brilliant reversal of the pro-imperialist’s position. You see, they’re not engaged in denying “agency” and all the bad things that come with it, no it’s you who are doing so.

There is no singular “agency” at play in any event, at any given time, in any given society. There is a wide variety of “agencies” at play, and when someone says you’re denying it in this or that case, they’re obfuscating the fact that they’re picking and choosing which particular “agency” they believe is most importa

    Constitutional Collapse

Found through an American Prestige podcast interview, “The Constitutional Order Leading to Trump w/ Aziz Rana” (paywalled). 🏴‍☠️ version: https://files.catbox.moe/cir0in.mp3

To understand what is unfolding, it is necessary to grasp the content of the US constitutional order. This includes a series of ideological and institutional components, in line with what Swedish sociologist Gunnar Myrdal in 1944 famously labelled the ‘American creed’ – the idea that the United States stood for the promise of equal liberty for all. At a time of global rivalry with the Soviet Union over a decolonizing world, national elites explicitly rallied to this creedal constitutional frame. Its constitutive elements encompassed a reading of the Constitution as committed to the steady amelioration of racial inequality grounded in principles of anti-discrimination; a

Yemeni Armed Forces target US carrier E-2 AEW aircraft

The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) successfully targeted an E-2 command and control aircraft belonging to the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, a senior Sanaa government source told Al Mayadeen on Sunday.

According to the source, "The Truman lost command capabilities following the attack, while both the White House and the US Department of Defense (Pentagon) have launched an investigation into the incident."

Details on the targeted E-2 aircraft

The targeted E-2 aircraft is designed to provide critical intelligence on potential threats faced by the warship during military operations. While it does not directly participate in attacks, it plays a crucial role in surveillance and tracking.

The aircraft, operated by a five-member crew—including two pilots and three radar specialists—lost its defensive protection, making it more vulnerable to attacks from Yemeni miss

Modern Money with L. Randall Wray

Steve’s guest is noted economist L. Randall Wray, one of the early developers of modern money theory. As many times as this podcast has talked about MMT, it’s always topical. In fact, just last week, Elon Musk discovered 14 magic money computers in government agencies!

So, Trump had to hire the richest man in the world who hired who knows how many hundreds of young tech kids to discover what we’ve been saying for 30 years, which is that Congress appropriates money, and then the computers keystroke it into people’s accounts.

There’s no mystery about this at all, but they think they’ve discovered not only something that people didn’t know, but something that’s, oh, it’s so scary. It’s nefarious that the government uses computers to increase the size of people’s accounts. Well, that’s spending. That’s the way it’s done.

Clearly, this is a good time to revisit the valuable insights of MMT and look at the implications for building a society that serves its people.
