  • I went in with low expectations but managed to secure a preorder from Best Buy.

  • That GQux episode was truly incredible. Dropping in the classic music like that? Chefs kiss.

  • Rock is a Lady’s Modesty continues to be a hoot. The second episode was slower but had some great character moments and a lot of humor packed in. I loved Otoha stalking Lilisa around the school.

My wife and I have been binging Apothecary Diaries and are now very nearly caught up. Really enjoying this show a lot. All the mystery and intrigue and just the right about of silliness mixed in, it keeps you on your toes.

Gundam Gqux had a promising start. As a gundam nerd I’m really excited at the idea of an alternate history UC timeline. Tons of fascinating lore bits being dropped in conversation. We don’t know much about our two main characters yet so hopefully that deepens a bit soon. As for the gundam itself, to be honest I’m not a huge fan of its design, but it’s not a deal breaker by any means.

Finally, we sat down to watch Lazarus and found ourselves flummoxed at the language options. Seems that Japanese language with English subtitles is not officially coming to Max for some time. That’s just bizarre. I’m sure we could find it online if we knew where to look, but for now I’m waiting it out.

  • I second the boulevardier mention. The paper plane has also become a mainstay in our house.

  • This is what I’m thinking too. If they can give humans something to fear worse than death, maybe the prophecy will be avoided?

  • Nicely done! Barbatos is one I’d like to build as well someday. Gotta love that giant mace.

  • Holy shit. We’ve been bamboozled!

  • Yeah lol. When she began counting from 3 I expected something epic to happen and instead she got immediately wrecked.

  • For me games from the NES era can tough to enjoy for more than a short period of time. They just tend to feel punitively difficult in a way that is not very fun. I’d much prefer a Mario from SNES onward any day for example.

  • I played Goldeneye at an arcade recently that had an N64 set up and actually had a great time. But people who hadn’t grown up with it and tried to join in found it pretty frustrating. So I can see that going either way tbh.

  • I am very much looking forward to: Rock is a Ladies Modesty, Lazarus, Lyco Reco, Gundam GQuuuuuux.

I am still in season 1 of Apothecary Diaries, but I promised my partner we could watch it together so I can’t simply binge it all.

I’m a big fan of the Sakamoto Days manga but am finding it hard to get into the anime for some reason. I get the odd feeling that something just isn’t translating to the new medium very well. Have fallen a few episodes behind at this point due to lack of motivation.

Finally, having recently finished Zeta Gundam I plan to continue my UC Gundam watch directly into ZZ. I have heard good and bad things about this one. Wish me luck.

  • Awesome, thank you!

  • I’m crossing my fingers that this ends up being as fun as it appears. I’m a huge fan of BAND-MAID and they did mocap for certain scenes, so my interest is piqued!

  • I would love this toggle! The number of times I have accidentally collapsed a post is embarrassingly high. More often I’m trying to tap a button in or around the post and miss slightly.

  • Agreed. The idea of throwing code up at the CI and expecting it to fix my mistakes seems like a bad habit to me.

  • This for sure. There are other great examples, like Yoshi’s Island or Mario 64, but World is the one I grew up with and have the most nostalgia for.

  • Haha, that doesn’t entirely surprise me tbh. I watched the trailer for one of the Ryza games earlier today and it didn’t look like something I’d enjoy. The newer Yumia game looks like it has some potential but I’ll definitely still wait and see.

  • You know I wasn’t really aware of this series before but this certainly grabbed my attention.

  • This drives me nuts. All I want to do is post my little screenshots and modern technology has taken that bit of fun away. People who do this are essentially free advertising by word of mouth.

With the use of Snipping Tool — a utility exclusive to Microsoft Windows, users are free to screen grab content from all streaming platforms.

This has not been my experience at all. The only way I’ve managed to take screenshots of streaming shows on Windows lately has been to use Firefox with the Hardware Acceleration setting turned off.
