I've found this sticky in my city, near Barcelona, Catalonia.
Anybody could help me identify the top banner? I'm not sure if the sun has changed some colors, and some fellow local anti-fascists have suggested that it could be the Palestinian flag. But I'm not sure, and it's the first time that I've found it.
Other peoples are shedding their blood to win the rights we have. When we send our greetings from here, and from all the conferences and the places where they may be held, to the heroic peoples of Vietnam, Laos, so-called Portuguese Guinea, South Africa, or Palestine — to all exploited countries fighting for their emancipation — we must simultaneously extend our voice of friendship, our hand and our encouragement, to our fraternal peoples in Venezuela, Guatemala and Colombia, who today, arms in hand, are resolutely saying “No!” to the imperialist enemy.
I guess you can sidestep this by not recognizing the existence of Israel as a legitimate nation-state?
Nops :-( A state it's a political construct, as national identity is a social construct. The recognition could be used against the state, but not against the national identity.
But what I was trying to point out was the false dichotomy presented: Israel is genocidal and so is Hamas.
Israel has the material conditions to commit genocide, Hamas does not. At most, Hamas could commit massacres in some settlements, which I don't see it fits the definition of genocide.
If we ignore that fact, we can use the political program of Hamas, but it also don't call for a genocide of jews or Israelians, even seems that they could reluctantly accept a 2-state solution.
The convention about genocide don't protect people that share a ideology (i.e. Zionism)
Also, the Hamas goals are not genocidal per se:
The Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” is a Palestinian Islamic national liberation and resistance movement. Its goal is to liberate
Palestine and confront the Zionist project. Its frame of reference is Islam, which determines its principles, objectives and means.

On this day in 2014, Eric Garner was murdered by the NYPD, choked to death after police suspected him of selling loose cigarettes. Garner said "I can't breathe" 11 times before dying. The man who filmed his death was poisoned in prison.
Eric Garner (1970 - 2014) was a former horticulturist at the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation, father of six, and grandfather of three. On July 17th, 2014, was approached by Justin D'Amico, a plainclothes officer, in front of a beauty supply store in Tompkinsville, Staten Island. D'Amico suspected Garner of selling loose cigarettes.
Garner stated "Every time you see me, you want to mes
I strongly disagree with this article. The only rationale socialist approach to this conflict is NO WAR, BUT CLASS WAR.
Supporting the imperialist US it's a nonsense. Supporting Russia (imperialist or not) is opportunist, the fact that it's confronting the US in this proxy war it's not enough reason to support it, at least in my opinion. Also, the direct consequences of this war are:
A huge increase of military expenditure of the US block (NATO) and a lot of that money will be transferred from the Imperial periphery (non US NATO countries) to the core, i.e.: to the US military industry.
Increased racism, fascism, chauvinism, and militarism in European countries (also Russia).
The only positive is that the BRICs and non-alienated countries have not supported the Western imperialist narrative. But being able to know this is not worth a war.
Carl Braden, born on this day in 1914, was a left-wing trade unionist, journalist, and activist who was charged with sedition by the state of Kentucky after purchasing a home in an all-white neighborhood on behalf of a black family. He was married to Anne Braden, a prominent civil rights activist in her own right.
In 1954, to sidestep the residential race segregation in Louisville, Kentucky, the Bradens purchased a house in an all-white neighborhood and deeded it over to the Wades, an African-American family who had been unsuccessfully seeking a suburban residence. White segregationists responded by burning a cross in the yard, shooting into the home, and eventually destroying the building entirely with dynamite.
For his role in the affair, Carl Braden was charged with sedition, his work for racial integration bei
