  • Also don't promise stuff you just can't deliver on. Like how a Tesla would be full self driving in 2014 but next year, or that amazing truck that would be the end game for every company moving stuff, or the new roadster from 2017

  • Thanks, it's kind of weird how much change this made in a few months. It also really changed my relationship with my parents and made it less superficial. Can highly recommend to dig in your own past a bit and see what you pushed way down, and actually deal with it.

  • This is still not really clear, but a lot of experts think they have it (this is what I hear on podcasts that invite those experts). But even if there is no kill switch, they still need American hardware and software upgrades and maintenance. So America can always decide just not to support it anymore.

  • I recently got a small basked a little larger than my phone. I put my phone in it when I get home from work. It's a good example for my kids and it helps me to actually be present with my kids instead of being on my phone half of the time.

  • I really hate services that use 2FA but the app runs on your phone. Like the android app for ms teams still wants me to enter a 2FA code that I recieve on the same phone! This adds zero extra security, the teams app should just directly ask for my fingerprint if that is even necessary.

  • Also it's not manly to share your life with a friend apparently.

I'm 40+ and a couple of months ago started therapy. I didn't even knew I needed therapy, went with my wife for couple therapy and it quickly turned into personal therapy.

What I learned after some tests is that I fall into the top 4% of men who are emotional closed off. This is pretty extreme, but maybe the worst part is, I never even knew. This is the stereotype we teach boys, men don't have emotions, they don't talk about emotions, etc.

  • I also think this is a cultural difference. The comic book obsession seems more like an american thing. In the Netherlands and Belgium there is also a big comic book appreciation, but it's much less about heroism and more humorous.

  • I was recently thinking it's says a lot about a culture, where kids shoot up schools regularly, but immigrants getting a terrible treatment never seem to shoot up an ICE office or other government building.

  • Not American but from EU, have a 3 day survival box with water and food.

There is a real chance Russia at some point attacks, I don't think they will drop a nuke any time. But they might try to sabotage the electricity network or financial system. So if a large (cyber) attack happens my family has enough for 3 days, a week if we have to.

  • There was a time before Windows where a lot of people used MS-DOS and it was all terminal. Maybe computers where less popular back in those days because of the learning curve, but still many people used a PC with just the terminal.

  • Even with millennials (1981 to 1996) there is a big difference when you where born.

If you are an early millennial you grew up with MS-DOS, so you had to learn the terminal to get anything done. You probably had your first smartphone after you where 25.

If you are a late millennial you grew up with Windows XP and probably had a smartphone as a teen.

I think the designer accidentally send a screenshot of a website to a factory in China

We got a finger skateboard for my son, but it really looks like the backside is just a website screenshot or something.
