I use those small paper tea filters. Bit tricky to pour over, but no need for any holders or whatever. Brought an aeropress a couple times too but figured it's not worth it for me, i will use it at home though. I want to save on the "bulk" of an aeropress though, haha.
Pee bottle and fairy lights.
Love that chair, you can also use it in the tent unlike other chairs. Most of the times i use it as a lounger with the seat area single layered.

Alfie & Maria

What a couple. Shitting on the balcony railing.
When i first saw Alfie, one and a half years ago on my balcony i thought he must be real old or sick. He was sitting in a flower pot and seemed completely unimpressed that i was standing right next to him. Just doing a lazy warning call, which i did not even recognize back then. Well i guess he is actually quite old, but such a chill dude.
And Maria always used to be my favorite pigeon, she just has such a funny and lovely character. I didn't know for a long time that they were actually a couple, i thought that was so cool when i found out.
In the last weak i saw Maria getting on top of him to mate, haha. But also the other way around. Never seen that before with other couples.

Evening Chillers

Somebody feeds them bread there. Love seeing them just chill.
Yes. And an on-off button.
Woah, bloody massive for real.
Similar, but i guess i might have an older version of this one:
https://www.effeuno.biz/en/negozio/easy-pizza-pro-en/p134h-509-copia/
At least mine is also called p134h, the "p134h 450". It does not have the fancy digital stuff, just two knobs on the side.
Max about 13" i guess, stone is a bit wider than 13.5".
Crunches a little, yes. Very happy how the bottoms turn out, that stone (and oven really) i have works wonders. I have a effeuno electrical pizza oven with the "biscotto" stone.
Yeah.. i guess. I also do that one, but this one here is my attempt at how margherita is being sold in Germany 😁 Usually oregano and also gouda or something, not mozza. There are of course places where they use mozza or you can ask for mozza, but default is most likely some other cheese. It's the Pizza i've been socialized with, i like it, and i think it fits better with garlic (which i had used too).
It's not the same Pizza, but the bottom looks somewhere along those lines,:

Cheese is a mix of gouda and fresh mozza. Herbs are dried oregano.
Fingers crossed that the rats won't go get 'em.
Yeah, I am pretty sure I saw some kind of fly creep under its wing and it was itching for a bit already before I started filming.
If you actually try the plugin, after setting up the brouter engine profile, you most likely want to uncheck the "use fastest route" option in osmand, that always seems to be activated and i always forget to uncheck it when i set it up new.
I love the brouter app, have you had a look at the profiles and the configurability. I thought it used to be much better than alternatives, but they might have caught up, I just kept using this one for a long time. There is also an android plugin for osmand and some other apps, so I can use the same routing on the go, it routes much faster than osmand internal engine and I like that I have the identical routing to what I have planned.
But i guess the best routing is the one where you know how it works and know about the flaws etc.
But yeah trip is over, back at work.
Tent sauna, huh. You seem to have figured it ou, haha.
Cheaper only inland i guess, those were really budget options for Olbia and Cagliari. And yes, trip over, no punctures nor any other bike maintenance done. It says something like "don't go there with tubed tires" on BP, i guess there were a few thorny plants but i feel a bit like this is being a bit over dramatized (same for the altravesur route). TBF i did not ride them both completely, so i just might have luckily avoided the sections where i would have got punctures from all the thorns but i don't really believe it. My rims are not made for tubeless so even if it might be possible to make it work somehow, maybe, i don't really want to mess with it.
Stintino looks pretty great! I wanted to take a train from Cagliari to Sassari and ride around that corner of the island too, but the train is currently not going there due to construction, so i didn't. For the rock doves, haha, apparently there is a colony around here:

edit: I don't know what lemmy is doing with my link here, on preview i can still see fine what i wanted to post, but on send it fucks up the link. Anyway Capo Caccia, that's a rock dove spot apparently.

Overnight guest gone

A photo from a few weeks ago. According to the poo it left, it stayed around for about 3-4 nights. Have not seen it yet, hope it's doing fine. The other balcony locals are there, and i am going to have new pigeon babies on my balcony in a week, Martha and her partner are sitting on eggs 🙄 I've checked the eggs but they are a few days too far in development for my ethical compass to still swap them for fakes. Very well hidden.
🤣
Also interesting that the wishes of consumers are apparently to be prioritized over those of creators.
I did not stay at any agriturismo, i kept it wild (lots of great spots to be found, super easy to do) and official camping (The tip for camping Theleme in Ulassai from BP was in deed very good, very nice place and good atmosphere), took a 65€ room in Cagliari in a hotel, although there would have been cheaper b&b options but they didn't get back to me quick enough, in Olbia i paid 55 for a really nice b&b, b&b terranova (it said and still says 70€ on google maps, but it was 55). So i guess b&b is what you want to look for, they all had shared bathrooms, but only a couple rooms, so really no big deal. All had a place for the bike too.

At the highest point of the BP route
I guess, in some scenarios, but that is not what i was talking about here really. Also "even if asked to please stop it".

Collared dove chicks in nest

One parent was just there to feed, that's how i saw them. It was doing a good job of feeding both, because it was sitting on the thin dark steel beam and could only feed the one that was closest, but then flew away for a second to land in between the chicks and feed the other one, which seems to have some feather condition on its neck.
Under the terrace roof of a cafe again. Hope they don't get hurt falling off that beam before they're ready, the feeding excitement looked really sketchy.

Pizza Crime Curious

I am not sure if this can even be called a pizza crime because it's available in almost any pizzeria in Italy, may even be listed under the "classic pizza" section. I don't remember seeing this one at home and i have always been kinda keen to order it but never dared to.
So now I saw it in a focacceria and figured this was my chance - just a quick transaction, then I can eat it alone, somewhere where nobody sees me 😁
Well, it was a bit underwhelming tbh. I might have to try it again with freshly fried fries, in a pizzeria, and eat it before the eyes of everybody else.

Juicy, fruity, sugary - what is it?

Well it looked juicy, fruity, sugary to me, I did not try it. In this hot, dry, rocky landscape, this juicy wonder really sticks out.
Location is Sardinia.

Zero Scare Crow defends its turf

Although it's those pigeons turf as well. They are a heartbreakingly cute couple, one has no more toes on one foot at all, just a stump, the other one has severely damaged toes on one foot from an old case of stringfoot. Pigeons in this town are in very bad shape.

Chick in nest

At the right spot, with enough time and.. construction material, the pigeon nest can grow into something a lot more serious looking than the famous meme nests.
There are nests up to 30-40cm in height at that place.

Zero Scare Crow

cross posted from [email protected]
There is this little crow at Piazetta Savoia in Cagliari who left its nest a bit early two weeks ago. The staff of the surrounding gastronomy fed it and now it is absolutely not scared of people and hangs around there. Doing all kinds of dorky baby crow stuff. Really crazy to see, never seen this before. It made me jump just now, as it nibbled on my sandals as I am writing this.
I passed by here earlier in the morning and was glad to not see it here, so it does seem to have a bit of a life outside of the Piazetta.
I am no crow expert, but I know that it quite often happens that crows leave their nest too early and then keep sitting on the ground. That does not mean the parents don't care for it anymore, but they may still be feeding it. So I would not just pick up a sitting baby crow before observing if the parents are still there for it. It could take a couple hours though.

Hooded crow having a cold drink. All the crows i have seen in Sardinia were hooded crows.

Rockdove Rebus

Hello. There are (at least) two rock doves hidden in this picture. Can you spot them? 😁

Love this plant. What is it?

It's all over the place here in Sardinia, makes it all look so nice.

Collared dove building a nest

I am sitting in a cafe, watching this collared dove bring sticks to the wisteria roof that covers the terrasse.
