  • Thanks, I also left because I was unhappy with the opportunities in front of me.

Have a great and enriching life traveling!

  • Good to know, I am very often in no-mans land. Thanks, I hope the road keeps treating you well.

  • Got it. I've hitchhiked in a few countries myself, but hearing Chile doesn't have any buses surprises me. Are your destinations super remote or is Chile less connected in general? Colombia had bus terminals everywhere, so I figured the rest of the continent must follow suit.

  • Haha, I don't know why that's the thumbnail for the house, it isn't in any of the house pictures, but I thought it looked cool so I left it.

  • Thanks, I will. Why do you hitch-hike?

  • Fascinating, on the Chilean side of Patagonia? Is the food expensive because you're too far south? Did you go through all of Chile?

Is hitch-hiking easy enough in Chile?

  • Oh dang, very cool, congratulations! I'm all about the open-ended travel myself!

    How did you get started?

  • Two plus a few:

    • They enjoy travel
    • They want to create
    • They are helping
    • They see life as worth living

I'm the enjoying one. I guess the worth living one too.

Thank you so much for posting!

Sorry, I was in transit a few days and finally had the time to check on the community this evening.

You pose a good observation, I am guessing by its nature you haven't traveled yourself? Let me know!

  • If you've gone several days without eating or drinking, it sounds like you needed to spend that money.

I'm happy you did spend that money and ate and drank; it sounds like the right decision.

  • Sorry, my internet apparently died at the least opportune moment and I just saw my last reply didn't go through. I think I said roughly:

OMAD works for my body: saves time, guts don't go nuts. I do OMAD because it makes things easier for me: it's healthy for me and my life circumstances.

Eating doesn't sound wrong if you're putting your family in jeopardy by fasting. Eating sounds like the right way to go.

Truth can be damaging, your truth and self-harm don't have to be exclusive.

I'm glad we're talking. Talking about it more could help; perspective and expression is often helpful.

  • Oh, I see. I've been doing OMAD for 8 years or so and also like fasting for longer periods occasionally, but I don't want you ending up somewhere you don't want to be.

Dry fasting can be dangerous and you are not a freak for breaking a fast; we call it breakfast for a reason and I'm not being glib.

Your reasons for fasting sound externally empathetic at the expense of your own health and a better balance for yourself may be available.

It's okay to eat and it's okay to buy things you don't need sometimes.

We're all learning, I don't see any reason from your posts for you to be upset with yourself, it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong, but it's perfectly okay to be upset. You don't sound like a disappointment or a stinker.

  • Hey, rant out.

The world is dumb and crazy.

Why do you feel that way?

  • Great point. Some Chinese dragons have wings and I did see a lot of dragon dances here with the more typical no-winged Chinese dragon, so I don't know if this dragon was intentionally winged or just an artistic Filipino take.

  • Oh cool, I'm specifically looking for truckloads. These are gooood.

Do they have a different name or are they just "big shrimp"?

  • Travel @crazypeople.online

Largest shrimp I've ever seen or chomped, these common in the Philippines?

  • Given my preference for AYCE buffets, it's similar to how most countries are, haha, except everyone here has a microphone waiting to go in the next room.

It's pretty fun, a little hectic, but I'm only here for a couple weeks, so party after party is doable.

  • Easier, although a 2-week TEFL certification often carries more weight than a bachelor's.

They also won't have to worry about healthcare, transportation, income taxes and a good number of other financial/social/political burdens.

    It's nice out here.

  • Fun fact, 36 percent of bacolod is blind because their eyes keep popping out of their heads.

Life here is feast - karaoke - feast - karaoke ad infinitum and you can play on your phone in between.

  • Feels like a good place to remind English speakers who want to travel that they can live abroad for under $500 a month teaching English earning $2500-$10,000 USD a month for 10-40 hrs a week, depending on how much you want to work.

If anyone in the US wants to avoid participating in the exploitative US work system detailed in the video, I'm happy to share my experience and offer advice.
