🌍 FreeGuessr.com – A Free GeoGuessr Alternative Without Street Names and Ads

Free Alternative of GeoGuessr game - No ads, no street names (from lvl 3XP), no paywalls.

How It Works

For those unfamiliar, the game concept is simple:

  • You get dropped somewhere in the world using Street View
  • You guess your location on a mini-map
  • The closer your guess, the higher your score

Game Features

  • Choose from high-quality maps (or add your own)
  • Daily Challenges & Player-Created Challenges
  • Game options: Round Time, No Move, NMPZ, Blink Mode (quick rounds, like 0.1 second)

⚔️ Multiplayer

Elo-ranked Arena (24/7 guessing, join and leave at any time) Party mode with:

  • Circles (co-op guessing)
  • Best Guesser (most accurate wins)
  • Geo Duels (last person standing, including 2v2, 1v3, etc.)

Unique Features so far

  • 24/7 Ranked Arena – A real-time Elo-based multiplayer mode where players join, chat, and guess together.
  • Blink Mode – Play rounds with just 0.1s glimpses without a need to install scripts.

GeoGuessr is making its way to Steam next month after almost 12 years of sticking it out as a browser game

  • Yeah, considering that the whole game is dependent on Google Maps, they can end it any time. I just hope GeoGuessr has a good partnership with them. I saw somewhere that they pay millions per year for the maps!

  • Geotastic is definitely a great alternative! If I could add another it would be FreeGuessr.com. You can turn off street names, it doesn't have Ads and you can play No Move or Blink Mode directly from the game.

  • Amazing news! It's great to see GeoGuessr coming to Steam! 🥰 This should make playing on Steam Deck much smoother. I just hope there's a free option (even with ads). On the web, most people have switched to free alternatives like FreeGuessr. If they go with a monthly subscription on Steam, I’m not sure it will work.
