Marigold House officially opens Its doors to the community
Marigold House, a newly-constructed 63-bedroom care home, began welcoming residents from Westlands Care Home on 20 February, with the final 2 residents completed last Wednesday. Now settled, all residents are enjoying the modern purpose-built, beautifully furnished home that has created a safe, warm, and truly homely atmosphere for all who live and work there.
Jim, one of the new residents, shared:
From the very first time I saw Marigold, I thought it was beautiful. I love it here, the staff are very nice, and they are friendly too. We have a good laugh as well.
The positive impact of the new environment is already being felt, with Lilly commenting:
It's a lovely place and I have my own freedom. I am able to make my own cup of tea and my own breakfast, which has given me back my independence. I am also making breakfast and the odd cup of tea for my friends.

Ward Councillor Grant Scheme returns from 30 April to back local projects
Ward Councillor Grant Scheme returns from 30 April to back local projects - We are relaunching our Ward Councillor Grant Scheme on 30 April 2025, giving communities another chance to secure funding for local projects that make a real difference.
Each councillor has access to £2,000 to support local groups, charities, and community initiatives that bring clear benefits to residents. Councillors can also team up to combine their funds where a bigger impact is needed.
The scheme can support a wide range of initiatives—from arts and culture to the environment, sport, health, wellbeing, social inclusion and diversity. In the past, funding has helped pay for toddler group play equipment, community garden planters, defibrillators and village noticeboards.
Residents and groups are encouraged to speak with their ward councillor before applying. Full guidance and the online application form will be available from launch day.
