When you sign a contract with a client that asks you to do something, you either do it in the ways described by the contract, or you don't and don't get paid. You have no say in how you should work.
Find the rules unfair? Don't apply to CCS then.
You don't have to say anything more. You're in the wrong. You lied, you didn't fulfilf your promises. That's it.

I feel like I prefer the voice I hear in my head than the voice I hear when I record myself :(

Airlines companies
The main source of those must be plane tickets. When paying, I feel like thereâs always a price increase that stops your order⊠a massive scam

Iâve had a bad experience with them as well. Avoid them for card related purchases

I read "left" as his other daughter being dead đ

Maybe theyâll finally fix their bugs!

Thatâs just one of the dumbest reasons to sue AppleâŠ

I was specifically talking about China never being badly pictured

Iâm not specifically saying youâre making a post and collectively jumping on a train to shit on us. It could also be that some users just search for political posts close to their beliefs or posts about their instance and only interact with those
It still feels Iike the only time you pop on threads, it goes wrong, and you are always seen in the same type of threads

Ah yes, when you donât have any arguments, use sarcasm and irony to make your opponent look like a fool. Classic.

Sure, but thereâs a difference between agreeing with the general idea and defending everything a country does. Nuance is important.
If what we consider an authoritarian country isnât considered authoritarian by communists, then there you have an additional problem

For sure, the core of hexbear and lemmygrad isnât brigading, but it happened enough so that people are fed up of it

I guess you didnât read what I wrote
You can read my comment history. Iâm sure you can check that Iâm not only talking about politics and not always defending one side

It might be. But itâs also because you guys are very vocal and support extremism/authoritarian governments

https://jlai.lu/comment/13530572 (For your first question)
Some isolated users are very vocal when thereâs a discussion about their instances. Happened in a discussion about defederation of hexbear in my instance. Wasnât there but it lead to both instances being defederated from us

Iâm not going to start the whole thread again. Here is the reason we say this: https://jlai.lu/comment/13508125
(Sry I only have a link to my instance)
When you go out of your instance, itâs to argue about political opinions

Not as simple as that

Their users are often overly entitled by this, spread hate, engage in brigading and censor people when they donât agree with them.
It is mandatory to mention that while I said the above, there is probably a good portion of them who arenât like that. Theyâre just the silent majority.

- Trade republic: taux dâintĂ©rĂȘt de la BCE, actuellement 2,75% -> 2,5%

LibreWolf's defaults are too strict and slow down adoption
I believe LibreWolf's defaults are too strict and slow down adoption. Most options are either : all or nothing. No in-between.
Sadly, I believe the default settings are too strict and will slow down adoption by the mass, which would in term bring a better anonymity set.
It's not a great alternative to Firefox because LibreWolf is just not usable for the daily user: no DRM, no cookies, no history, websites that break... The browser should let the user choose:
- Maximum compatibility (more tracking)
- Mid-option (like a modded firefox but without the annoyances like cookies not being stored, having a fixed size, or forced light-mode/timezone)
- Best privacy (pretty much the current mode)
I find myself forced to edit the default settings which is a huge privacy/fingerprinting risk. If we create 'settings groups', yes, the privacy will be hurt, but at least we will be more in each group.
What do you think about this?

Opinions on walkable tiles
I think the game should really prevent you from placing objects on walkable tiles instead of having them be deleted when NPCs walk on it. Itâs not intuitive at all. What do you think about this?
I wonder what happens with the mini shipping box as well. Its description says that you can place it wherever you want but I feel like itâs just going to be destroyed.

Infos about how Lemmy works (technical POV)
Hi! Does anyone have a ressource to explain how Lemmy works in terms of the more complicated stuff, as:
- If a community is hosted on instance A and a user thatâs on instance B creates a post in this community, is the post hosted on A, B? Or are individual comments hosted on the instance of their respective authors?
- what happens when your account gets deleted? Are all my messages deleted? Does this happen to all instances (it syncs the deletion?)
- do instances cache posts and comments posted on other instances? If so, RAM or disk?
- will having too many instances increase the load of all instances? (If they all have to sync?)
- if I want to check the comments of a post, does my client ask this to my instance of to the instance of the author or to the community's instance?
Questions like this. I guess most will be answered by explaining deeply how ActivityPub works but if anyone has that info, please share :)

Any other provider/host/server for bluesky?
I couldnât find one. Itâs only decentralized if people use other servers!

Nice iOS mail client app?
crossposted from : https://jlai.lu/post/15113385
Does anyone know a nice iOS mail client app? Preferably open-source.
I don't really care about E2EE, PGP.., and it should have notifications. Best thing would be that I can self-host the notifications server OR have a notifications server running that's open-source (so Canary Mail it out of the question)
I want another client that isn't Apple Mail also
So far I found Preside but sadly it isn't open-source

Linux Mint's website uses Google Adsense
Update: Mint's website doesn't actually seem to be using Adsense. It might be a mention that hasn't been removed from the privacy policy.
The Linux Mint website uses google Adsense to sell your browsing data to google so they can better track your preferences and deliver personalized adsâŠ
They state they do it for the money. Pretty scammy from my opinion. They should remove all the google things from their website (including analytics) and use their own solution instead.

Monero price increase
Any reason why it happens now instead of when all the major cryptos went up?
I donât understand the market đ”, just seems like trading bots doing their thing

Kraken is delisting Monero in the EEA (Europe)
Sent by email :
Kraken continuously reviews listed tokens to determine the impact from regulatory changes on our offerings.
As one of the worldâs largest cryptocurrency platforms, we are constantly working to support the most comprehensive set of digital assets possible in alignment with applicable regulatory and compliance obligations.
Whatâs changing?
After thorough consideration, and exploration of all viable alternatives, we concluded we have no choice but to delist Monero (XMR) in the European Economic Area (EEA) due to regulatory changes.
We did not take this decision lightly and remain committed to providing our European clients with an exceptional trading experience.
Whatâs next?
- On October 31st 2024 at 15:00 PM UTC, we will halt trading and deposits of all XMR markets (XMR/USD, XMR/EUR, XMR/BTC, XMR/USDT) for clients registered in the EEA. Any open XMR orders will also be automatically closed at this time. Note: Clients will remain able to withdraw XMR on Kraken

Recent sync deletions feature can make you lose a conversation
Just a little post to make you aware that a recent update that allowed synchronized deletion of messages between devices (ex: deleting a message for yourself only on your computer will delete it on your phone as well) also applies to the feature to completely delete a conversation.
This previously didnât happen and is a bit annoying as I just accidentally deleted a few conversations from both my phone and computer because I was used to deleting conversations on my computer (as theyâre pretty much stored unencrypted and I donât like it)
So sadly I thought this change wouldnât affect this feature but it did, so thatâs annoying, I just lost a ton of messages and media

Apps to track which movies / series I watched (JustWatch, ...)
I would like to know if any of you use an app or website/service to track your progress in series, or which movies youâve seen.
The platform should also indicate where (streaming services) the movie/series is available
Iâm currently using Justwatch but they probably sell a lot of user data, and some of the availability infos for some shows is wrong, and after contacting them to report this, they were of no help and didnât understand what I asked. Seems like they only check the US catalog of the streaming services and donât report it country per country, which is preferable.

Pixeldrain (filesharing website) now accepts Monero!
Just a little announcement to say that Pixeldrain (a file sharing website) now accepts Monero for its prepaid subscription option. Minimum deposit is $10.
Iâm not paid or anything, itâs just a website that I like that is developed by a solo developer (+ they open sourced a big part of the website). After begging for some time they accepted and added Monero to their BTCPay server.

Canât delete or edit posts
I canât seem to find how to delete or edit posts from the app. I manage to edit and delete comments properly though.

Bug: Saved posts canât be unsaved when focused on
Browse posts, click on one, save it.
You canât unsave it anymore from this page, you have to go back to the posts list to unsave it.
