  • One thing to check is whether you are receiving "Incoming" connections on other torrents (the I flag in Qbittorrent peer status). If you are, port forwarding is probably working, its just that maybe nobody in those torrents' trackers and DHT are requesting it

  • The two have completely different goals, and SimpleX's goal (anonymity) comes with difficulties such as not having typical "accounts", which means no true simultaneous multi-device support.

  • It really is a love/hate for me: on one hand, I love seeing my favorite scenes (Rhuidean, for example) brought to life by a clearly talented cast. On the other hand, the writing is completely haphazard. Inexplicable changes that add no value and aren't even tied in to the larger plot and character development, sloppy relationship building...somehow these show writers wrote a less convincing early relationship for Perrin and Faile than Jordan himself, and that's saying something lmfao. I feel like book readers need some group therapy to process this mess LOL

  • One thought: when I moved to GrapheneOS, I did not understand how it related to my threat model. I attempted to use multiple profiles, as this is a feature that many people who use GrapheneOS value. I had no concept of my real risk, and tried to segregated FOSS from non-FOSS, etc. This IS actually a bit difficult for the layperson vs stock Android. Things like notifications and app installation work differently at the end user level; e.g., use FDroid vs Google Play, no FCM notification functionality and having to manually configure a replacement.

However, the layperson, using a single profile and sandboxed google play, is already better off than any project out there from my understanding. For adoption, that's what I would be advertising for GrapheneOS. It just needs a one page explanation of the simple features and advantages for the person coming fresh from stock Android, and avoid (on that page only) getting into the tools for more advanced threat models.

  • The openSUSE matrix server had this happen last year, and the admins came up with a good solution of bots that seems to keep things very clean now. I'm sure they might be happy to help if you asked in their admins group

  • Maybe because... automatically recording calls is literally illegal in some places around the world? It should probably be user choice to opt in to that so it wouldn't be on by default. And then, if you have it on while travelling, you could forget and break the law when going through a jurisdiction that does not allow it. Better to explicitly allow for each call, like it does currently.

  • This fork https://gitlab.com/ironfox-oss/IronFox, which is itself a fork of Mull Browser. Mull Browser was maintained by Divested Computing Group (the creators of privacy focused Android ROM DivestOS, a fork of LineageOS). When the Mull Browser fork was archived, IronFox was created within days. As you can see individual projects come and go fairly often, but the community is pretty active in general!

    Reddit Sub Ban Wave

Reddit just banned a ton of LGBTQ+ and NSFW subs, I imagine a bunch of people will be heading this way!

Obsidian Appimage+Native Wayland Working on openSUSE Tumbleweed with NVIDIA

No more XWayland bugginess! Just add --enable-features=UseOzonePlatform --ozone-platform=wayland to the appimage launch command and it works great!
