This is a big reason why I continue to cringe whenever I hear one of the endless news stories or podcasts about how AI is going to revolutionize our society any day now. It's clear they are being better with image generation but text 'thinking' is way too unreliable to use like human replacement knowledge workers or therapists, etc.
As somebody who's data was compromised during a previous OPM breach,I have been telling folks this would happen from day 1. These guys are all clowns, probably using free accounts on Box or other filesharing sites to store sensitive data.
Is that supposed to be safer than the body scanner? I just wish we didn't have to take our shoes off.
What are you hoping will happen? Everyone has to get a physical pat down?
My money is on them not returning him. They will either claim they can't find him, he's been moved to some other facility and they can't find him or there isn't any proof he's actually there at all.
Even taking his bullshit argument at face value, he thinks the best solution for these violent drug addicts is to leave them out of the street? Who is the audience here? If you literally think they are all violent, why is leaving them free to roam around the right solution?
I know it's all about money and grandstanding on his part but this definitely seems like some under-the-influence kind of deep thoughts.
I'm the USA, it's just another we hate the others. Others being anyone not a white Christian. Trans people are just a very small minority that most people that support trump can't relate to because they don't know any in their rural community. Typically trans people can't live in rural areas because of either a lack of doctors that will provide them care or the lack of facilities.
I see the same thinking when these Trump supporters demonize migrant workers but them hire them to do work for them because they are some of the "good ones". Imagine that, the minorities you are exposed to are normal people.
Truly how can Elon even roleplay as a PoE 2 player if he doesn't even know about DnD. Has he been playing it like this the entire time? His DMs must regularly be flooded even when he's know trying to stream.
Ships of course, it's the way all countries already do it. https://www.follow-this.org/roughly-40-percent-of-all-bulk-shipping-globally-is-for-coal-oil-and-gas/
That name of the building is the backstory I was referring to. That was a headnod to what was actually happening with Japanese investors moving in and buying up a lot of American real estate. I think that's when a Japanese group bought the Plaza hotel in NYC for example and when Sony bought a movie studio (renamed it Sony pictures, but I think it was CBS movie division).
Gung Ho, staring Michael Keaton, is another movie example.
This is all just Japan from the 80s all over again. There are a bunch of movies from the period with Japan as the bogeyman. The peak probably being the backstory of Die Hard.
The key difference this time is the USA was paying for Japan's defense, had a massive military base, etc. China doesn't have that problem, so they can counter American demands with their own demands.
Interestingly, look at interviews with Trump from the 80s, he'll talk about Japan almost with the same language that he uses for China now. The most famous was probably an appearance of Trump on Oprah.
Even if Trump removes every tariff a recession is almost certainly coming. Short to longer term planning, hiring, building, etc will certainly slow down and that kind of things is widespread. People lose jobs, people don't get hired, people choose not to start a business or invest money in the USA, etc.
To be fair the TSA is just a federal jobs program and the workers are at least better off than if they worked for a private company doing the same thing. But that probably last too long under Trump. Then the TSA will be shuttered, replaced with private companies and AI the workers turned into contractors with no health benefits.
Most Americans, it's the same stuff fast food places use for fried chicken. KFC, Chick-fil-A, Popeyes are very popular here in the US!
Sorry to bust your bubble but that won't happen. Walmart is infamous for drowning people that sue them in litigation until they are bankrupt.
She's free to sue them for sue but that at best will get her a small payout that her legal bills will immediately consume. That's only if Walmart offered her a payout, I'd say in this political climate and in Florida they would just grind her down.
At least in the US I'd say it's because the government pumps billions and billions in subsidies to the different farm sectors (70+ billion a year for beef alone). The products you mentioned don't get that funding and don't sell the volume either.
Lol, I didn't say any of that. But it's a fact Goldberg has been a mouthpiece for the State department going back to at least the Iraq war in my opinion. He's not a Trump guy but just doesn't want to piss off any current administration so he won't lose his access.
It was great to go to college at a time when Napster and IRC rooms were in prime time, combined with a T1 fiber connection and University IT was too primitive to do anything to monitor or stop the behavior.
If you think US involvement in this will led to peace then you are simply delusional. I am in no means backing anyone, just simply pointing out US involvement will decrease any chance of peace because it removes the agency of all of the groups involved by letting the US decide what the next steps are.
All the more reason for a diplomatic solution, escalating the conflict will only disrupt trade more. A peaceful solution is the only way for trade to resume safely. The USA has no interest in peace in this area, only conflict. The only foreign policy the US has is to sell weapons.
