Since feddit.ch is shutting down on 31/3/24 I've moved to @[email protected].

Haha that's understandable! Well, either option should be a good choice. They've both been around since 2021 and their admins are quite active so they appear to be stable long-term instances. According to lemmy.fediverse.observer feddit.de has better uptime but in my (admittedly limited) real-world use I can't recall ever running into prolonged downtime on sopuli.xyz.

You can search for instances by country here:

That's disappointing but thank you for giving us a place to call 'home' in the fediverse for as long as you did. I appreciate your time and effort doing so.
If anyone needs help finding a new instance here are some resources:
join-lemmy.org/instances
lemmy.fediverse.observer/list

My personal general purpose instance recommendations & server locations:
feddit.de - Germany
sopuli.xyz - Finland
lemmy.ca - Canada
sh.itjust.works - Canada
I started using slrpnk.net while lemmy 0.19 was causing federation issues back in late December early January but that's an instance intended for people interested in or involved with the Solarpunk movement so it's not going to be an ideal place for everyone. Any of the general purpose instances I've mentioned are great options that I've used in the past.

Switzerland and India have reached consensus on a free-trade agreement after 16 years of negotiations, Swiss Economy Minister Guy Parmelin said.

Actually, the devs just released 0.19.3 which includes the following bug fix:
Mark instance as alive after successful activity send (fixes #4039) by @Nutomic in https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/pull/4377
It sounds like that will probably resolve the issue.

Rising temperatures and retreating glaciers threaten Europe’s water tower, forcing local farmers to adapt and presaging larger troubles downstream.

Hmm I know on feddit.ch/instances it still lists 19.1 but according to lemm.ee they're already running 19.2. I did discover status.lemm.ee which confirms feddit.ch is not reaching lemm.ee but they're reaching here so it looks to be an issue on this end. I'm not sure if this would be useful to you but here's a screenshot:

Have you encountered any ongoing federation issues? I've noticed my posts in [email protected] aren't showing up so I've been using an alt to post there. We're listed as being federated with lemm.ee on their end so it's a bit odd. I haven't had any issues with any other instances.

The damage Mark Burnett did by refining the myth of Donald Trump’s business acumen for The Apprentice is incalculable. He single-handedly convinced the stupidest dregs of society that Donald Trump was a brilliant negotiator and successful businessman. When in reality The Apprentice itself was the only successful thing he had ever been involved with.

Thanks for updating to 0.19.2 so quickly. I switched to another instance running 18.5 for the last two weeks or so while this federation bug was causing problems but I'm really happy to be able to come "home" again.

0.19.2 just released!

Hey, someone has found a work-around for the outgoing federation bug in 0.19 and 0.19.1.

I'm not sure if you've seen this yet, but figured it might be worth taking a look!

A spokesperson for the GOP candidate’s presidential campaign said it has "the ability to be nimble and hyper targeted" in ad spending going forward.

Thanks for the hard work and for providing this instance for all of us! Unfortunately federation appears to be broken. Is anyone else having this issue since the 0.19.1 update? None of my posts or comments are actually federating anywhere.
It’s not just happening in this instance either. My backup accounts on other instances running 0.19+ aren’t federating properly.
