  • This seems like the sort of thing AI does better than people. I'm good with it.

Hopefully we keep some human doctors around too though. I recall when automated customer service kinda helped at first but then one day pressing 0 no longer brought you to a person.

  • Sad Rule

  • The post is a comparison to what that money means to a billionaire vs how life changing it would be for most people.

It's kinda good if the rich guy buys a fancy bottle, giving the restaurant enough revenue to cover a few days' worth of cost.

It's probably better if instead someone can be done with paying hundreds of dollars each month on loans with a worse interest rate than my last car payment.

  • We live in a society with both social and legal consequences for our actions.

Presumption of innocence is for legal matters. Me calling him guilty is not a legal matter. It's a social consequence of his actions.

The gross texts are available to read. They are undisputed facts. He is guilty of sending them.

There are no legal consequences for those texts. The social consequences include losing his job.

Do you feel we should live in a society with only legal consequences and no social consequences?

  • They started defending him for this when Bill Barr was still AG. So when Garland came in he had to either backtrack on what DOJ already decided (bad for long term justice department credibility) or let the Bill Barr line of reasoning play out. They continued to apply the Barr excuses just with minimal effort.

Now that legal action is back on the table, Garland can say this is a different situation and step away from the actions set in place by Bill Barr. They can drop Trump and DOJ doesn't have to damage its credibility by backtracking what Bill Barr started.

  • I ride BMX for fun. It's evenly split between hour long rides and hour long trick sessions. It feels good to go fast on the bike or to explore what's around the next corner. Feels amazing to nail a new trick or improve consistency with old tricks. Then afterwards I get LSD flashbacks looking at the popcorn ceiling while catching my breath. Fun all around.

  • FWIW my yard would be full of mosquitos if we did not have a mosquito service treat it every 3-4 weeks. It's not a big yard, and my neighbors don't treat their yards. The mosquitos still stay out of our yard though.

Point is it can be done. Whatever the Mosquito businesses do - works. Hire one of you have the money to spend or try to figure out what the professionals do.

Half the battle is getting rid of water. Every few days walk around and pour out anything that collects rainwater.

  • There was more than just the stuff with his wife though. Dude likes 14 year old girls and had many inappropriate texts with underage girls. Go listen to the audio of when he was a guest on a podcast talking about how some 14 year old girls are "developed" and physically ready etc. He's fucking gross and was a hindrance to the show.

That said. The rest of the crew was happy to drop him, so I have no problem continuing to support the show.

  • Yeah I spent 2 weeks on Jerboa unable to post, comment, subscribed etc because the instance I joined was not yet a login option on the app. Still have that issue with every other app.

You can tell the devs are working hard on these apps though. It's a race to get a polished app released before people lose interest in leaving reddit.

  • Find an active hobby and get addicted to it.

I don't understand why so many people just go to the gym. There's nothing wrong with the gym if you enjoy it or want to sculpt specific muscle groups. If you're not a gym rat at heart though, don't get stuck in that rut.

Consistency is key. Finding something that's fun and convenient helps overcome one of the main hurdles to consistency - motivation.

Play tennis, play pickleball, go hiking, learn to roller skate, etc. It just needs to be fun and convenient. Trick yourself into better health while having fun.
