Also just a thought but like yeah maybe the teaching thing wouldnt be a forever gig, but just getting your foot in the door, getting to China, opens a lot of doors for finding other work there too. Like maybe you start out teaching english, use your time there to really master the language, and make connections locally, then you get a job doing something else in China later on.
I wouldnt worry about the english thing. Its like standard in high school there, and is mostly used as like a general education thing. English is spoken in TONS of places and is a very useful language to know when you are dealing internationally in general not just with the US. Its the most well known 2nd language in the world.
I used to have this thought that like ya id love to move to china and live there but its so unlikely to happen right so why bother trying, but i stopped thinking that way. I'm going to school for a degree thats highly needed in China right now, and learning Chinese and once im done i will do whatever i can to get a job there, and move there. Because ya its hard, and not many people manage it, but fuck it.
I really reccomend if your like me to look into either going back to school, or starting from scratch. If your over, like 26 i think, there are a lot more financial aid options for you because parental income doesnt count towards FAFSA anymore. ANY type of bachelors degree can get you an english teaching job in China, and a more specialized one could get you a job in Chinas growing tech sector or something. It might not be permanent residency but its a start, and we all have to start somewhere.
ya i find it super sus too. Like even assuming the studies finding are infalliable and true which they arent, you still have correlation/causation issues. Issues with the interplay of each persons political views with their own existing government, for example a communist in the USA or in China has a very different lived experience. Its just a nonsense study imo.
The beauty of these studies is because the words they use mean nothing the study can mean anything. "Right wing authoritarianism" What is right wing? Biden? Trump? They both are to me. I think this isnt just a political move but a tactical one. Imagine your a ukrainian fighting non stop. Then this ceasefire happens and you get to breathe for a second. You get 3 days where your not fearing for your life 24/7. It shows you what peace could be like. Then your leaders try to say you need to keep fighting while they are refusing Russias permanent ceasefire option a few weeks later. All your gonna be thinking about is those 3 days, and how if theyd just agree you could have that again. The Ukrainians are conscripts. They arent a professional military mostly. So this sort of thing has a real chance of getting some of them to just straight up mutiny if the talks fall thru. Which puts even more pressure on the Ukrainians to take whatever deal is offered.

Tips for a secure LAN with cellular connection?
So i am moving soon, and will be setting up a new LAN. A bit of an unorthodox one. Internet in the city im going to school in is pretty expensive so I've got an old thinkpad running OPNsense and will use that as my router and just tether my phone to it to provide cellular WAN. Both my PC and Laptop use Linux, Mint on PC, Debian on Laptop. I'm wondering what steps i should be taking security-wise on a setup like this? All my traffic will be going over the open air, and i know highjacking cellular connections is something thats done. Other than just using a VPN all the time which im doing are there any other steps i should take, maybe in my computer, or router firewall, that could help prevent MITM attacks? I'm not super familiar with how router level firewall especially works. Is much tweaking even required?

I was thinking about human development and how as we get further into a socialist society we may find it hard to get children to fully grasp what past systems were like.
There are people who theorize we are a simulation and they give various ideas for why this might be. One most of them wouldnt consider as they are libs is we could just be in a full immersion learning environment. What to do if there is a nuclear strike near you.
So we all im sure have seen the insanely dumb shit the USA is doing and for anyone near an area that might be hit by a tactical nuke in the event of a limited exchange i thought id post some advice on what to do.

Bottled water
cheap shelf stable ready to eat foods. Trail snacks, granola, stuff like that. Few multivitamins too.
Iodine tablets.
N95 masks(or the best u can find.)
goggles.
Duct tape.
A cheap handheld radio that can be recharged and has emergency channels.
When the strikes happen if your outside get inside ASAP. Remove all clotheing before going inside and leave it outside. Pick a room preferably a bathroom in the center of a structure that doesnt have windows. Preferably have all supplies already in there, but if not get them in there fast. Close the door and duct tape over any cracks or vents
