  • You know what would give women power over men? Allowing them to charge money for sex. This is why it's so demonized. It should be legalized so it can be regulated with health standards, and standards of engagement that protect everyone, like condom use, and having to do monthly or weekly STD/HIV checks. Make it 21+ ID is required to buy and sell services.

  • Without seeing the actual study, I reserve the right to think that this "scientist" published bullshit data and is full of bias.

  • How about all the microplastics and other chemicals in our environment that are now sitting inside of us doing god knows what, like maybe acting as a mutagen fucking up our gamete DNA. Mutagens cause mutations to gametes. So you can have a normal mother that is exposed to mutagens over time, the DNA in their eggs get mutations, and the DNA in the fucked up gamete get passed on to the offspring. So now you have an offspring that has a genetic propensity to develop a psychosis based disorder. Stimulant use absolutely can cause psychosis, as well as extended use of hallucinogens. Usually in weed caused psychosis, it's an acute episode that clears once the drug is out of your body in a few hours to days. OP do you have a link to the full study? I'm wondering if their modeling and data sets allowed them to control for people that actually used stimulants vs no stimulants. This would require something like a 2 way anova where you factor drug use and age.

Here is a link to an actual study that tried to control for confounding factors like use of other types of drugs.

  • Be VERY careful about accepting ANY used furniture. This is a good way to get yourself a bedbug infestation. Bedbugs are insidious and can hide in tiny little cracks in furniture, even if there is no upholstery. If you're going to get used furniture, dust it with diatomaceous earth. Put that shit in every crack you can find. If there is any cloth/upholstery, put a layer on all the cloth. Then when you have the furniture in place, put a circle of diatomaceous earth around each leg of furniture. (Do not put the furniture up against the wall, pull it about a half inch away from the wall.) If bed bugs attempt to emerge and crawl away, they will be dehydrated and die as they walk through the diatomaceous earth. Trust me when I say, you do not want those fuckers in your house. They are incredibly hard to eradicate once there is an infestation.

  • As someone with shit vision, I also want my house lit up like a hospital.

  • My bad, I hadn't though that far out, and assumed a bus driver would prevent children from being snatched from the bus. Maybe instead we need to go back to covid era learning online.

  • The better rail networks is what I was commenting about.

  • Seems like a good way to fight back would be for the districts to decide to BUS all children to and from school. Busses lined up right in front of school, and school administrators walking children directly to the bus. Kids get picked up and dropped off right in front of their homes. This would make it harder, (not impossible,) for ice to just grab children.

  • I'm going to preface this by saying, I am a Buddhist. It is refreshing to hear a republican acknowledge that most current republicans are not following the example of the teachings of Jesus, despite using Christianity to brow beat the rest of us, and deny people basic human rights. This guy is a progressive republican that is being included in a primary on the democratic ticket. Republicans do not want this guy elected, and are pulling on donor purse strings behind the scenes to try and make sure Jasmine Crocket wins the Dem primary because they think she is less electable than whoever will be on the republican ticket for that seat come election time.

    Quoting him directly:

So, like I said, I’m not living up to the radical teachings of Jesus Christ. But I do think that, 2,000 years later, He is still pushing us to be better neighbors, to look out for the poor, the marginalized, the oppressed, the vulnerable, to stand up to powerful people.

You know, we often times think of Jesus as this really nice… polite… gentle person—which He was, of course—but when people were hurting His neighbors, He walked into the seat of power and He flipped over the tables of injustice. That was a powerful example of non-violent direct action—protest—and it’s what got Him killed.

The Roman Empire didn’t kill Jesus for being a nice guy. He was a threat to their wealth and their power. And so, again, that should unsettle us in the wealthiest country in the world.

We should be asking ourselves, what does it mean to truly follow these teachings? Are we really looking out for the least of these? And I think when you look at our current government, you look at our current society, the answer is a resounding no.

So instead of putting the Ten Commandments in every classroom, instead of forcing school children to read the Bible against their wills, why don’t we—all of us—look inward and figure out how we can be more Christlike, even when it’s uncomfortable.

As a democrat, I would vote for a republican like this, because actually following the teachings of Jesus are aligned with what the Democrats have stood for since the civil rights movement. (Many of Jesus's teachings are aligned with the eightfold path, reducing suffering, ect.)

  • There are other platforms devs can release games. GOG, microsoft, epic store, or you can release physical CD copies to sell at retailers. Steam isn't gate keeping anything.
