Ban chlorine and chloramine in the water too! The microorganisms will strengthen your immune system. Just like Haiti. :)
Nothing went wrong. Remember the era where every sequel was straight to DVD? Who remembers The Lion King 2? How about Brother Bear 2? Sonic Adventure 2?
It's difficult to iterate on a piece of media that was written to be a standalone entity.
The only exceptions really are when stories are split into multiple games (such as halo 1-3)
The 360 was so good
He was known as a massive loser even back then. MAD skewered the shit out of him in the late 00s.
Less than 80% of people think they could take on a rat in a life or death battle. You could literally pass out and fall on it and probably crit it.
A certain leader eats a shitload of them each week, so we can only hope xD
I broke my phone, and this actually happened to me. Google had set my old broken phone as a default passkey without my knowledge, back when they were rolling it out. My sim card was retrievable, so I used SMS to get in after my password. Turns out, that's not good enough. It took me days to get into my idiotic accounts (including Google authenticator for work) because of all the security hoops, even with backup codes, password managers, and a SIM card.
My saving grace was Firefox Sync, which allowed me to get into Microsoft accounts and slowly start unwinding Google's insane requirements.
Reminds me of the Via Ferrata in Switzerland. It really gets the blood pumping and gives you a massive adrenaline rush, as your feet are walking on tiny metal bolts driven into a sheer cliff. You can see all the way down to the valley floor from between your toes :3
Complete aside from the truck, but I'm really glad those catalogue plants (and junk mail) are going out of business. It's an enormous waste of resources and trees, just to pump out shit that people are going to throw away without even glancing at.
Fingers crossed that single use plastics are next on the chopping block. Bring back metal foil, wood, paper, glass, wax, and bamboo. We can and should make manufacturing more sustainable, in some ways more like the olden days.
The only other spread that I've seen people eat is Nutella, a sugary hazelnut spread. Outside of PB&Js, of course.
Wow, no balls.
It's the PFAS, makes it a lot more water soluble.
That feels a little on the nose...
Break up Russia.
You can get LED film off Amazon for like, $7. It blocks those annoying LEDs on tech devices, monitors, wall outlets, kitchen appliances, and my nemesis, smoke detectors with stupidly bright LEDs.
Best $7 you'll spend this year.
I'm fine with adults mutilating their foreskin, but I want the decision left up to the individual. Having the parents do it when they are a baby leaves the individual with no choice
It's very good :)
I hope they have A/C and heat hookups for the back seats, might fog up if they don't during winter x3
I like the idea, but I do hope they come out with a smallish car for those who don't need a bed or truck formfactor. My bed would be so clean all the time, lol.
I recently read A Fire Upon the Deep and it's sequel, The Children of the Sky, and this picture is very fitting with those books (they feature a lot of sentient wolves)
I was on a paddle board a summer or two back, and noticed someone swimming with their really tall, inflatable kayak that they had been fishing off of. For some reason, they were dragging it through the water in one of our lakes.
I felt stupid, but I paddled over to them and asked if they were okay, as they were out in the middle of the huge lake.
He actually said "No, I don't know how to swim, and can't get back into my kayak" which made me ashen-faced, and I helped him onto my paddle board and back into his kayak. Thank fucking God he had a lifejacket on. He was probably about 700 feet offshore and fell overboard much earlier. Had he not had that lifejacket, he might have drowned. He never called for help as he was embarrassed.

Most of 51 brands tested, including those for children, contained dangerous heavy metal

Your best bets for fluoridated toothpastes are probably sensodyne, unless you can find these more obscure brands.
I hope they continue to test more adult pastes!
What was your coming out experience like? How old were you when you came out?
This article in the NYT made me curious what other people's experiences were like.

Vision Zero guidelines appear to be working as intended! Fingers crossed that many more cities start adopting these principles.
An Endangered Galápagos Tortoise Is a First-Time Mother at 100 - The New York Times (Free Article)
Mommy, a Western Santa Cruz tortoise, recently welcomed four hatchlings at the Philadelphia Zoo, where she has lived since 1932.
These tortoises can live till 200, and it's not uncommon for them to have children at such an age, even in the wild. Their numbers are growing! :)
WA may be getting a new statewide bike highway system (Seattle Times)
A very cool plan. The only part that is annoying is a new 10% sales tax on ebikes on top of the existing 10% sales tax. You'd be better off buying your ebikes out of state at this point. Other than crippling a nascent, ultra-low carbon market in a rapidly heating world, this looks like a great plan.

A year after getting loose on Kangaroo Island, Valerie is still out there.
What song makes you think of old happy memories? What time was this from in your life? Do you have a certain day or event attached to that song?
Tonight, I attended a talk on neuroscience and brain research, and there were a lot of interesting links between memories, behavior, and mental health. So I'm doing my own little version of that in this thread. What song do you associate with happy memories, even if it's just a general feeling of happiness? Can you recall one of your oldest ones?
Go your own way, by Fleetwood Mac makes me think of fun car trips with my parents, roughly around 6-8 years old. Nothing terribly specific, though I do associate it closely with one of the city highway on ramps used to go visit relatives, go skiing, or get to the airport. :)
A Couple on a Flight Boasted of Illegal Hunting To Wildlife Officers Sitting in The Row Behind Them- The New York Times (Free article)
The passengers also showed the officers the skull of an endangered sea turtle they were smuggling in a carry-on bag during the flight.
The two didn't believe the officers when they were informed that they were wildlife officers and bragged and their illegal hunts, their uncle's illegal hunts, and showed officers an illegal turtle skeleton they had in their bag.
Are the new 'city' bug missions crazy for anyone else?
We were on Haz 7 on Fori Prime last night, and we easily killed well in excess of 300-600 bugs per diver, multiple bile titans, half a dozen+ chargers, etc.
They just never stopped spawning. We leveled half the city with strategems, arc throwers and flamethrowers and they just kept coming as if the spawners were broken. Are these levels OP for anyone else?
I've played for 160 hours and have never seen anything like this before.

Is Microsoft Excel the Next Big E-Sport? - The New York Times
At the Microsoft Excel World Championship in Las Vegas, there was stardust in the air as 12 finance guys vied to be crowned the world’s best spreadsheeter.
Someone's nickname in the competition is literally "The annihilator" lmao.
It actually sounds like a lot of fun, and I'd be interested to see the whole thing.

I know the new admin isn't gonna do great things, but the money is already spent and a lot of people have already started (or in some cases, finished) these projects.
The work that has been done over the past four years has set into motion great changes for decades to come, and empowered local areas to now build on the vision and infrastructure set out by the outgoing administration. :)
