Polling conducted for the 2024 President election in Texas.
You forgot the /s at the end of this sentence.
Hmmmm….
From Wikipedia:
“Witkoff, who is Jewish, was born in the Bronx in New York City, and was raised in Baldwin Harbor, New York and Old Westbury, New York on Long Island.[8][9][10][11] He is the son of Martin and Lois Witkoff.[12] His father was a manufacturer of ladies' coats in New York City.[13][12] His paternal grandfather and grandmother were both born in the Russian Empire.[14][15]”
Ice cream or cake?
Gravity falls and owl house. I would also happily take amphibia in the mix as well. There was already an Easter egg of a stuffed sprig in owl house so we are half way there!
I feel that this is the stereotype that is portrayed, however this isn’t true. I’ve lived in a very rural place growing up and rural areas tend to rely more on government assistance.
For example, in a study from 2017 shows people from rural communities are more likely to receive Medicaid than urban communities. https://www.kff.org/medicaid/issue-brief/the-role-of-medicaid-in-rural-america/
Additionally, SNAP also has a higher percentage use in rural communities. https://www.fb.org/market-intel/snap-it-aint-just-for-cities
The reason I bring this up is as someone coming from a rural community, there is this belief that the government doesn’t help you. This is part of the reason why trump came to power. This idea that bloated government programs only exist for cities. This isn’t true and this shouldn’t be perpetuated. People from these communities need to understand their reliance on government programs because they are all under threat right now.
Great. Thanks for the tip!

DuckDuckGo's Default Settings

I'm curious what everyone thinks about DuckDuckGo's current settings. I have my browser settings set to delete history, cache and cookies on closing. This creates an issue when using duckduckgo as my primary search engine. Their 'default' settings (available right below the searchbar) seem far from privacy focused. AI Chat is on by default and used 'sometimes', as well as 'advertisting' and 'location' settings that are on by default. This requires me to have to change the settings every time I load my browser due to any settings I save being deleted by my browser setup. I don't want to install a duckduckgo extension. How do others deal with this? I know you can 'save anonymously' your settings in the cloud, but I'm not eager to do that.

Fair point. In my workplace, I’ve never seen it being used by someone who needed it. It is either taken by people who prefer it or when the other two stalls are filled up. Understand your point though.

Does anyone else readily choose the handicap stall if it is available?
I will always choose the handicap stall because I like the space between myself and the next stall. It seems like the US bathroom system encourages games of battle shits and I’m not willing to play. I’ve only had one instance where I walked out and a person who actually needed it was waiting. I felt terrible, but it was only once out of hundreds. Does anyone else do this?
Yea, I think it makes sense for them to stop if they are getting a return on their investment.
Yea, fair point.
I’m honestly blown away that Nestle stopped or reduced advertising. It seems like twitter is exactly the home for such a terrible company.
Got you covered!
“A 2013 global study on homicide by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime found that men account for an average of 95% of all persons convicted of homicide”
They can, but you are 7.5 times more likely to be murdered by a man.

There is no profit in securing customer data and there is no drawback for the company when data breaches occur. Without regulation, there will never be motivation for companies to give a shit.
They will apologize like Old navy does every few years for sweatshops, claim they really care and promise to improve (they won’t).
What the apology really means?
“Enjoy your free year of credit monitoring and fuck off.”
Partially tore three quadriceps muscles and two calf muscles break dancing at an arcade bar when I was black out drunk. Just didn’t know when to quit until it was too late. Both my primary doctor and the person who did the MRI thought it was hilarious. To be fair, it was.

“Streets Ahead” was used in the Great British Baking Show Juniors (season 7, episode 7)

Has anyone seen this used elsewhere?

Update: Nothing illegal here. Virginia reused envelopes from last year.

EDIT: See @AnimePhantasm comment below! My friend called the election board and they confirmed what @AnimePhantasm and @fmstrat commented! This was Virginia reusing last year’s envelopes.
OP I am an absentee voter in Blacksburg just next door. Shine a light on the blacked out part. I am 99% sure this is legit, they just crossed out the witness requirement. I can see the word witness under the sharpie in your picture. Virgina doesnt have to do that witness thing anymore. We did at the last general election, so I am guessing they just reused the same envelopes. You should call and ask your elections office before alerting the news. They are hardworking folks whose jobs are already 100 times harder then they used to be. Stirring up reports of election fraud where it isn't happening makes us just as bad as them.

New poll shows Harris within 5% in Texas
These are just polls, so vote!
Hopefully these trends will inspire people in states that have been consistently red that a flip this election is possible!

My puppy named Quark! Sometimes charming and sometimes strange.
