  • How do your toughts work?

  • I have no internal monologue but I do have a mind's eye. Ideas and thoughts appear to me in "splashes" or like a very quick flash. I can detect patterns in behavior and speech very accurately and quickly, and this abilty/quirk also makes me very tired rapidly. I love complicated stuff but get bored easily. Reading is one of my passions but I have to have different books for different times and places.

  • Good for you. Whenever I get this kind of situation with ny kid I think "Will this matter in five years? Will this purchase break the bank?" If not, I buy/allow/rent whatever and move on. It usually does the trick and I don't mind if in my mind it sounds ridiculous or exaggerated, It is not about me but whatever they are going through and as long as they get the tools they need, so be it. Kid is very down to earth and doesn't usually overconsume. The only place where we overspend is the bookstore.

  • The IRS thing (Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público in México) has been a thing for a while, the driver's license was new as for last year as far as I know.

  • I don't know about OP but in México when you get your driver's license, passport or file taxes, fingerprints and iris recognition are a must, no exceptions.

  • Oh I do! I am just too technologically inept to not know how to upload images on Lemmy.EDIT: Just did it! Last time I couldn't do it but now it worked 😀 One of my favorite memories is when we brought home our kid from the hospital and seeing Tandi with a bewildered look on her face the first time the baby cried LOL she was so surprised by the sound.

  • Yeah when mobility became an issue with her we used a sling bag thingie designed for dogs and she loved it!
