  • It makes me think there must be something more to the story. Bad blood? FromSoft not wanting to make it an exclusive?

Otherwise, I just don't get it either. I'm not a businessman, but that seems as close to risk-free money as you can get.

  • If only there were some other incredibly highly desired From Software game that people have been shouting at Sony to assign to the Bluepoint team specifically to remake.

You know, an obvious choice with an existing fanbase that would literally open their wallets and tell Sony to take whatever they want in order to play it.

  • I've seen so many meme edits of this scene that I was waiting for the reveal, lol.

  • Yeah, I'll take a handful of eye rolls for seasons and seasons of some of the best TV ever. (I may be a tad biased)

  • I love holodeck episodes so much.

  • Fair take. Trying to include a moral lesson is like walking a tightrope: it's cool when it feels like a natural part of the story or world-building, but it's sooo cringy when it feels like a direct lecture from the writers to you.

TNG does get more subtle, but it also does have occasional moments that practically feel like He-Man turning to camera at the end of the show to tell you why drugs are bad or crime doesn't pay.

  • I don't know the context of the pic, but that's Elizabeth Olsen.

  • Congrats on dating Elizabeth Olsen!

  • Hey, I like the sound of that.

  • I'm going to steal this.

  • I do think I'm going to start a retro game ROM collection in general. I have a sizable physical collection already, but there are just so many that aren't easily available anymore.

  • The first that came to mind are episodes that have been removed from circulation, like the Pokemon episode with Porygon, or the It's Always Sunny Lethal Weapon episodes, or that first DnD episode from Community.

From a quick search, there are a bunch that are stuck in weird legal limbo: The Drew Carey Show, Dogma, Tales from the Crypt.

Someone also mentioned Song of the South being pulled by Disney. Ooh, or the original Star Wars films from before they were edited. There are also probably a ton of not well known older films that would benefit from being preserved.

  • Welcome!

  • I've been using Handbrake to rip DVDs but haven't started using MakeMKV yet. I do have a number of blu-rays that Handbrake can't seem to process on its own.

  • Don't worry, he did the close bit with scissors.

  • An actual fediverse AMA! That's pretty cool.

  • I find it funny, because if you're like me and spent the 2010s commenting a lot on reddit, you're literally part of the training data. All the LLM giveaways — like overuse of em dashes, for example — are things that you probably do too.

I'm stubborn and don't want to change the way that I type.

  • I know you're 100% right, but does Lemmy/Piefed count?
