  • Also that lib was full of shit. Steam has never actually banned racists, no matter how many times they're reported.

  • Give people their freedom and they will fight tooth and nail to prevent themselves losing it again

"freedom" is the most meaningless word in politics. People use it to mean both "freedom from" oppression and "freedom to" oppress. Socialists, Communists, and anarchists want freedom from oppression but don't always agree on how to get there. The bourgeoisie want the freedom to oppress the proletariat.

However put just yet another red boss on top

this is such a tired trope. you're worried about the supposed "red boss" while

is still in power. "We can't do revolution because meet the new boss same as the old boss!" Give it a rest.

you will need that conscription and all the authoritarianism that will come after and will crush any advance towards socialism.

Authoritarianism is the second most meaningless word in politics. The ruling class always cries about authoritarianism as they are being overthrown by the very same people who they have been exercising authority over. A social class will dictate the conditions of production. Is it going to be the proletariat, or the bourgeoisie? Is it going to be the impoverished majority, or the opulent minority?

  • if I could attach the epub of that book on lemmy, I would.

"this war is totally about NATO defending innocent Ukrainians from Russia," cries NATO, as it deports innocent Ukrainians back to the war zone. And here's the kicker: The Ukrainian government needs them to do this, because it's nearly run out of military age males to draft human traffick into mine fields with insufficient training who are still in the country.

what if revolutionary defeatism? what if no war but class war? what if the ukrainian proletariat doesn't deserve to be used as meat shields for the preemptive geopolitical jockeying of NATO against BRICS?

::: spoiler Some forced conscription videos

  • Your whole woke thing is over. Trump will take 2024 and then normalcy will return.

Oh wow, you mean the ICE camps will open back up? Oh wait, Biden never closed them. What exactly are you threatening us with? Replacing one senile racist with another?

  • Thanks, linguistic differences are also important, that's true. I'll try to read the article when I have a chance.

  • Banderites have always hated LGBT and Ukraine has historically supported gay marriage even less than Russia. I am beginning to suspect from your other posts that you are one of those anti-LGBT reactionaries trying to paint LGBT people as imperialist, and the United States arming nazis in Ukraine as some kind of pro-LGBT agenda, when in fact that is simply some rhetorical window dressing America likes to use to justify their reactionary policy of arming anti-communists.

  • it took centuries for capitalism to replace feudalism, and during those long centuries of mercantilism and colonialism, the rising bourgeoisie were suppressed by the feudal absolutist aristocracy. It was only after long centuries of class struggle that the bourgeoisie became the ruling class and the feudal aristocracy became a historical curiosity. And yet, in some parts of the world, there are still constitutional monarchs (England, Belgium) and absolute monarchs (Saudi Arabia). Some day, the proletariat will succeed the bourgeoisie, even if it takes centuries.

  • all the "ingenuity" amerikkka keeps sending to ukkkraine ends up getting destroyed by 50 year old soviet artillery so....

  • Wow. I've been asking people that question since February 2022 and I have yet to receive a single Ruble from Mr. Putin.

  • you're so wrong it's hard to know where to even begin. You buy into the premise that the US arming reactionaries and building them up as a force to destabilize and entire region is somehow "protecting" people.

  • he was well known for his havana banana

  • It's a good question. I don't have an answer. I would need to think about it for longer

  • well given the relationship between base and superstructure, it's less something people apply daily to their lives, and more it is something that is applied daily, by society's base, to society's superstructure, and vice-versa, regardless of whether people are aware of it. I don't think it necessarily makes sense for an individual apply it to daily life, but I welcome corrections if I'm wrong about that.

  • Comrade Dessalines, you rock. Your audiobooks and essays are great. No questions.
