Russ Cook, aka Hardest Geezer, is to run the length of New Zealand on the 3,000km Te Araroa Trail.

It's getting a little better now because they can just scan in what they wrote and OCR it
I like how they manage to shoehorn Old Norde into the map but ignored Russian and Polish.
Generally agree, but the breakdown should be 80/20, 80% easy and 20% hard. It'll be real difficult to get faster without the 20% hard.
What does the 3-2-1 rule look like for you?
I'm trying to plan a better backup solution for my home server. Right now I'm using Duplicati to back up my 3 external drives, but the backup is staying on-site and on the same kind of media as the original. So, what does your backup setup and workflow look like? Discs at a friend's house? Cloud backup at a commercial provider? Magnetic tape in an underground bunker?
You can't just leave us without the story!
It'll be a great run or a great story!
Yes but to keep it legit he has to be on a treadmill the whole time he's on the ferry /s
I could see that, but I also run with an arm strap phone carrier

Russ Cook to run the full length of New Zealand

This is why I run naked, wrapped in cellophane
Exactly. Although I haven't worn mine to the sauna yet...that might be the next test. I put a small one in my backyard so I usually just grab a robe for the walk to it and back and a towel to sit on.
That's what I'm thinking. Although I'm fancy about my socks. I've switched to Injinji toe socks and don't ever want to go back, including their hiking ones.
What do you recommend and how much are they?
What am I missing without expensive running shorts?
Bought a few $10 pairs of gym shorts from a big box store, probably an 8" inseam. I wear boxer brief style compression undies when I run, so netting and how they feel on my skin isn't really an issue. They have side pockets that are fine for carrying my key fob, which is the only thing I really need for most runs. On runs they seem completely adequate. What am I missing by not wearing more expensive or nicer shorts purpose made for running? Is it one of those things where if I try something nicer I won't be able to go back?
ACTIVE is the Ticketmaster of running. Change my mind.
For the moment they don't care about what the customer wants because their most important market is enterprise, not the customer. I'm not sure what would change that except hitting a critical mass of C-suite people who get fed up with it.
