  • I would care if it took 3s to start, after all I moved all my storage to NVMe for a reason. So I totally get why you would be annoyed with snaps, it’s just that in my experience there’s simply no noticeable startup time in 23.04, firefox opens in under a second. So they either fixed that in LL or you can outmuscle it with hardware, and I’m genuinely just curios which one it is.

  • I don’t get the complains about snap apps. My firefox opens near instant, even after a reboot. Maybe they fixed that with Lunar Lobster? That’s the first Ubuntu I installed on my PC since Ubuntu 9.04.

  • Just to add, sorting All by Top Hour/6H keeps the content fresh. The default Active sorts by comments and favors 1-2 day old threads while Hot regularly resurfaces weeks old threads for some reason.

  • Won’t happen, not with the whole Hungary mess and the rise of the political far-right going on. No government would risk political suicide and the end of the Union for Sweden’s NATO membership.

  • TestFlight just pushed an update with a new icon. You can change colors in Settings.

  • It‘s crazy how fast the app ecosystem for lemmy exploded. I‘m constantly switching between apps, right now Memmy is my fav (them haptics!) but I can‘t wait to try out Artemis, too.

  • Hm ok, sorry then I’m not sure why Signups fail. Do you get a spinning button or does it redirect you to the frontpage?

  • Make sure that your username doesn‘t already exist on your chosen instance afaik that would cause an infinite spin on signup.

  • That‘s so helpful, thank you for sharing it with us! One question: If I want to update my known communities in a month or so, can I just rerun the script or will that cause issues?
