Permanently Deleted

  • My permaban came from a post about DOGE. They deleted the comment, permabanned me, and wouldn't let me see what I even commented. They said it was "encouraging violence" but hell no, I was making sure not to say anything like that. Wonder if I just insulted Elon and reddit decided to finally get rid of me.

  • Getting annoyed just reading that in quote form. The obsession with "I think you should leave" is getting too much too. I love that show and they're making me like it less by constantly referencing it.

  • So, Walmart has a membership option now, which means, yes they can check your receipts. It's not required my law (lol) but it is legal.

And yes, security theater to scare thieves away. I remedy this by not shopping at Walmart.

  • I'm using Voyager and you can copy the link for all of your subscribed subreddits (if you haven't deleted your account yet) and enter it into the app. It will search Lemmy for similar communities.

  • Paranoid me says they're trying to ban all of the older accounts with clear liberal bias. 14 years for me too and my permaban was for saying I'd "take a couple with me" if Nazis ever came for me. Appealed and upheld.

  • Curating subs? I see it as more of "creating my own bubble". Lemmy is a good way to kinda expose myself to other stuff for a change and not just the reddit hive mind.

I mean, how many times have you opened a post and knew what the top 3 comments would be??

  • Honestly, all I've ever really known was reddit. In 2011, I remember the cheezburger site having funny memes and seeing "reddit" mentioned a lot. Checked it out and liked it. Magical time back then. Chuck Testa, Tom Cruse, Rampart. sigh

Oh well, it sucks ass now and so far I'm enjoying Lemmy. Will check out the new Digg though, just to support and help reddit die.
