Late?!? I can’t even plant anything outside yet. 3 weeks of frost risk still.
I’ll likely do something like that in the cold frame, swamp watering or bottom watering does have some advantages! It’s so dry here I don’t think the solo cups will last a whole day.
Well now it is thanks! Haha. I live in a valley, so I take extra degrees lower. Large city, the official temp is at the airport on the other end of the city.
3 degrees this morning, vehicles have condensation on them, last frost is around May 24 and it can still snow.
Only cheaper if they survive a few rotations haha.
They’re double cupped, so inside cup has a hole, second cup collects the water. As these were and still mainly inside in my tents.
halp

Good call. I was gonna silicone some joints to make everything more permanent as well.

Toasty.
Bought on Amazon. Was around $250 CAD, there’s plenty of options, key word is “cold frame”.

Just look at these tiny things!

New cold frame, who dis?

Spent the day playing around with little bolts to put this together. Should extend my growing window by a month, won’t be able to extend end of season I think though.
Batteries weigh more than ports though.
Many games don’t have demos, and that’s only if you use store fronts that utilize that. Demos ar also limited and barely get you out of the tutorial, so hardly actually long enough to judge if the game is good. Same with with 2 hour return scumbag tactic… that’s even worse than pirating lmfao. A return is just abiout the worst metric you could give them… and demos that don’t lead to a sale is a good metric how…?
Pirating leads to viral marketing.
And you’re the the person giving people who torrent correctly a bad image. Fuck people like you.
Demo or pirated they still don’t get money mate…
Pirating is usually used as a demo, lots of people still buy after trying a game through torrents. Lots of indie devs gush about pirating actually boosts their sales. You’re looking at this from the wrong perspective.
It’s part of the original wiki article OP posted and I didn’t want a long winded comment, but you also aren’t wrong.
Parts like the lute and troop count are embellished, but all three kingdom stories and their name sakes are based off of historical names and accords.
Zhuge Liang garrisoned at Yangping (陽平; around present-day Hanzhong, Shaanxi) and ordered Wei Yan to lead the troops east. He left behind only 10,000 men to defend Yangping. Sima Yi led 200,000 troops to attack Zhuge Liang and he took a shortcut, bypassing Wei Yan's army and arriving at a place 60 li away from Zhuge Liang's location. Upon inspection, Sima Yi realised that Zhuge Liang's city was weakly defended. Zhuge Liang knew that Sima Yi was near, so he thought of recalling Wei Yan's army back to counter Sima Yi, but it was too late already and his men were worried and terrified. Zhuge Liang……
It only worked because he was known as a master tactician. Gotta get the clout first.
Exchanging the air constantly will make the tent the same conditions as outside. If you want to increase the temp and RH you need to “seal” it up. So only run the fans when it’s not at ideal conditions to get to ideal conditions.
You CAN run the fan constantly, but there is downsides, like needing supplemental heat, using more water for the humidifier. The idea of the tent is to make small area the ideal conditions, making your “lung room” the area with constant air exchanging is more difficult to manage. Especially if your tent isn’t actually in a semi sealed room.
I grow cannabis, so I’ve got a pretty automated system. If my rh or temp gets too high it fires on the exhaust and it naturally draws air in. I have my settings at 27c or 60rh to turn on.
Is your in and out running constantly? You should only be exhausting air when it gets too hot or humid, and forcing air inside isn’t usually recommended except for in pretty advanced systems.
If your light isn’t putting out enough heat, anything I’ve said is pretty pointless. Even a pepper starter light should warm a 3x3 up.
Haha, today was 3c and rain/flurries -.- so you know.
I can only get so much done in a day, so doubly so, gotta take super advantage of any chance to get actually planting. Gonna try my best with watering and cloches to keep them alive.
My cold dream should be here by May 5, so perfect time to start hardening some stuff off if something doesn’t get in the way of installing it!
What’s your setup? Usually you don’t need a heater with a grow tent.
You can turn down the light intensity to lower the DLI, which should let the tent remain warmer overnight as it would 24/7 lighting or even 18 or whatever you calculate instead.
With my lights on, my fans are almost constantly running or it’s above 26-30c. And that’s not even at full intensity. When they turn off they go down to 16c at night as that’s the house temp. So if you can avoid a dark time, you could solve that issue?
Not all plants can get away without a nightly respiration period though iirc. Not a basic technique by any means.

Got my first spring planting in! Probably get killed by frost, but hey!

Still not out of the woods for frost, but I transplanted the non hardened broom corn and planted some more seeds with them. I also transplanted a couple Marigold and Nasturtium starts with some seeds as well.
I left some space between the tall ornamental grasses as I’ve gotten a cold frame to install on the block above this narrow bed.

How many starts is too many??

Consequences of still going hard, but not being able to install a greenhouse this year. These have taken over two 3x3 grow tents and then some.
There’s more germing on some heat mats too!
These are a collection of flowers; marigolds, aster, lupins, nasturtiums, straw flower, corn flower, decorative grass.
There is also for veggies; peppers (9 types), tomatoes (9 types), onions and leeks.
On the heatmat, there’s the 4-6 week starts, so cucumber, melons, more flowers and some cucamelon.

A parsnip budding for second season seeding I believe.

It’s my understanding that a bunch of root vegetables like carrots, daikons, turnips, parsnips, rutabagas, etc. all grow their first year to store energy for the second years seeding.
Parsnips and turnips/rutabaga iirc say to harvest after a frost or two to sweeten them up, so I missed a bunch.

Life... uh... finds a way.

These are onion starts that I planted last spring in a garden bed I hadn’t properly cleaned up last fall.
Of course these are doing better than the actual spring onion starts I germed this year -.-

My tomatoes and peppers germed too fast! I ran out of room in my tent before the other was ready.

In the picture there’s a good assortment of 6-8 week starts. In no particular order there is; marigolds, nasturtiums, onions, broom corn (6” pots), zinnias, 8 or so tomato and pepper variety’s. Some of the tomatoes and peppers are mixed between the domes and the cups.
The other tent will be available this weekend, still have a window of starts. Still can’t work the soil, but this weekend I should be able to start spring cleaning if it doesn’t snow again.
LFG growmies!

I'm potting up my starts today, what's your plans?

Nothing special, just some potting soil and some cups.
Fill up with dirt, make a hole and drop the Brownies in and water lightly.

Sprouty McSprouty Sprouts!

Flowers starts are starting fantastically!
In the back row are lupins and Asters in rockwool. I’m surprised the Lupins have sprouted, supposed to take 30+ days.
In the middle the left is Nasturtiums, cat grass and Asters sowed in dirt.
Front row is Zinnias and Marigolds in rockwool and another direct sow Asters.
I also have a few heat mats of tomato, pepper, onion and leek starts!

There still may be snow on the ground, but spring has sprung. Marigolds!

How's everyone's garden progress coming along!?

I’m in the midst of getting my planning done, 8 week starts need to get started next week for last frost at end of May.
This way I’ll know approximately how many seedlings to start and I can keep track of which ones we enjoy. With the layouts, it will allow me to keep track of crop rotations to minimize nutrient depletion. I most likely won’t do a round of cover crops though, I can always just throw some of my other nutrients to top up when needed.
Edit Link to the Libreoffice and Excel doc the file was just saved as excel format, so there is likely formatting issues. If the link reaches its limit send me a msg and I’ll make another.

New seeds, who dis?

Grabbed some seeds during a valentines sale, they are just pricey otherwise (over $10 a seed for decent genetics) it still came out to $255Cad.
Haul is all fem:
10x bubble kush from RQS
10x Powerflower from RQS
3x legendary OG Punch RQS
5x White Widow AUTOs RQS
And the freebies which appear to come From Canuks seeds are:
2x Strawberry Banana
2x Fruity pebbles.
I mainly picked RQS as I got them in my last round and was happy with the genetics, they were also one of the 40% breeders, so bonus. The Kush is just for some nice dense buds, the power flower seemed like a nice hash producer and the White Widows were only available in autos, but I like messing with them once in a while.
The Legendary OG Punch is just a beautiful strain, and paid out the butt for these ones.
I’ve grown some Canuk seeds before, the autos went south on me, but that could have been grower problems, but free is free.

Making some bubble hash!

Processing about 2.4kg of fresh frozen cannabis.
My technique definitely needs to be improved, but that’s why we do this stuff and learn right?
I’m washing it 4 batches of 600g each. Next time I’ll probably make them smaller still.
I also feel like I am adding too much ice, even though I add less each time… the stuff frosts up and I’m sure it’s not getting the stuff in between the denser buds.

Even though, the returns are decent I would say, and I’m saving the washed bud for edibles, so nothings wasted. I’ll dial in the technique for next run. I collect the trichomes from the 25 and 74 micron bags, I’ll keep them separated and from there I’ll press it into hash rosin.
Picture is from batch 1/4

Frosty and evenly milky on week 8. I usually go 10 weeks, but this'll be pretty Amber I imagine.

Home made Cannabis carts. From seed to vape.

Got 4x 2ml carts from 7g of Rosin. I had to use some liquidizer to get it more flowable, it was liquidy at 50c, but it would probably gum back up when coming down.
So if my math is right, I added about 1ml of liquidizer (instructions say 2ml/g but that’s uncarbed as well) so per gram they want you to be 1/3 concentrate, so I’m not expecting it to taste much like the “strawberry” it’s supposed to. So with their instructions I should come out with 21ml or 10 full carts. Shit would be weak, but we will see if it’s even smokable at this consistency.
I’ve made some posts throughout the journey, but any specific Qs feel free and I’ll try to answer them, but I ain’t no expert here.

7g of decarbed Rosin.

Winded up taking about 3 hours at 200f until I didn’t see any more bubbles forming, it doesn’t appear to have recrystalized. So today I’m gonna warm it back up and get it into some carts.
It’s cold from the fridge, so not very flowable right now, so will likely need to use my flavored liquidizers, but the terpenes all didn’t boil off, still has a beautiful smell.
Bubble hash

And the resulting Rosin. Winded up looking more like butter though.

Decarbing Live Rosin to put in cartridges.

This is about 30 minutes into a potentially 30 hour process.
The oven is set to 200f, and you put the Rosin (or any concentrate of your choice is my understanding) in a mason jar and let her rip until all of the CO2 bubbles stop forming. This turns the crystalline thc-a into the liquidy thc.
From there I’m going to do a few carts a few different ways, I have liquidizers to flavor and help thin if needed, but in theory I should be able to put the decarbed rosin liquid right into a cartridge and go.
It’s “Live” rosin because I froze my cannabis immediately after harvest. The “Fresh Frozen” cannabis was than put through a bubble wash machine to get Bubble Hash. From there the Bubble Hash was dried and cured and then pressed into rosin. And from Rosin to here now.

Flowering day 14 after a couple days recovery from thinning and training.

Pre training F12 in Aero, White Widow by RQS

Going to trim off some growth sites today and install the second trellis.
She filled the tent out beautifully though, still another week of stretch I’m assuming (hoping?).
